We can completely avoid it by simply not playing waystones with this mod so no, it's not needed at all. All it does is to create annoyance and horrible clunkyness should one run a map like that by accident.

There are ways to mitigate it. Chest slowing potency implicit, slowing potency corrupt on boots, node on the tree for less effect of curses, campaign reward, sell/vendor/disenchant waystone...

I think the 40% was added to quickly since players havnt had a chance to find the new speed rune or upgrade the boots.

e.g. your upgrading and are tempted to add 1 more mechanic as a gamble juice.
You have to have a downside to upgrading otherwise just give players already made waystones with pre built mechanics.

But adding 5% should have only increased the chains by 10%, 20% is too high.


But this data will be collected and analysed, part of the goal will also be to have waystones sold or deleted sort of self cleaning game items.

This is also used to train players to play a certain way, keep moving to avoid damage etc etc.




The data shouldn't have to be analyzed. 20% was already bad enough. This is an objectively horrible design decision and really just proves they are rushing out these patches with little to no testing.

The horrible defense balance, XP penalty, one shots, and fast monsters speed already train the player to keep moving. All this does is slow everything down, even summoning portals. It's like having a game speed slider like in old rts games but the game speed only affects the player.

Lots of good decisions lately and improvements.

Then there is temporal chains. You want people quit the game? Find a way to force them to actually play this mod.

Like the op said, I don't understand how this concept germinates in someones brain- its exceedingly frightful it breeched the Wulan lab into open air. Then even more insane that more than one entity thought it was a good idea and it made it into code.

This must be how the zombie apocalypse started.

it's a game

make the design space enjoyable. there are enough problems in the game to solve that it's fun, we dont need "slow down the player" as an added "difficulty" (annoyance)
IMO, They think Difficulty = Annoyance.
But, Annoyance = Annoyance. Period.

I don't understand why they put so much efforts to make their game annoying.

The best points of this game is the graphics + animations + FX => awesome !
Kudo to the teams who are in charge of these parts !

IMO, Everything else is annoyance.

Seriously, who actually thought this was a good idea and how did it get approved? It's decisions like this that made me lose all hope for this game.

Even if this wasn't tested at all, and I don't see how it could have been and put in the patch, it shouldn't have even been an idea being floated around. "Hey let's take the most annoying curse that players already hate and make it 2x worse. We'll have to look at the data to see if this bad idea should be taken out of the next patch".

It really boggles the mind


Obviously someone who is not really playing the game. So potentially the same people that release useless low level unique items, thousands of trash rare items, skills that do nothing and ascendancies that cannot compete.

I hope this is just a phase and they sort it out until release. Then again, maybe the team is to small. We will find out.
