Bow/Quiver Armour Question

Hi,

Just perusing PoE Ninja, seeing what people are doing to try and become more learned. I see players of various classes using bow, quiver, and ES helm with 40-70k armour... Is there a trick to this? Or is the site assuming their stats with all flasks, vaal, blessings etc popped at once? My current league archer is tissue paper, could use some inspiration, thanks(especially with defensive auras getting cut in half next week).
