Volatile Flowers

Please make the Volatile Flowers (Purple balls) more visible to the player or comepletely delete them out of the game, they are as horrible as the crystals.

My main issue is that they still persist after you kill the rare mob. Same with the lightning mirages.

That's kind of the point of them though.
Can't have enough on-death effects.
Need players to die when they try to loot!

Noone is going to die to their AI that can't even get through doors, so they have to add on-death and persisting-after-death BS hidden by a purely cosmetic on-death effect that is somehow more visible than all other effects combined.
They are the absolute worst in rituals, when both the mobs and your skills are drowning them out and you can’t see them.
I hate volatile plants. They are manageable if you are playing a ranged build. If you are playing a melee build, they slow your progress down so much because you have to keep backing off and circling around. Even with lots of HP and chaos res, you can easily get deleted if you get trapped, frozen or stunned.

Here are four ways to fix the problem:

1) Lower the amount of damage.
2) Reduce the number of volatiles a plant can spawn in a batch from 3 to 2.
3) Reduce the duration of the volatiles so that when a plant spawns another batch, the first batch expires. This prevents them from stacking up, which can be really deadly.
4) Some combination of 1-3.

I'd say the only thing that needs to happen is reduce the volatile number to 1, it doesn't really matter if you dodge 1 or 3 the effect is the same and with 1 you can build enough defense to eat them while still adding extra threat if you're swamped in mobs

So basically nerf them by 2/3rds

Ritual ones are ticklers tho, my best strategy is don't stand still for long I can get hit with 5+ without too much stress, I find getting stuck in a rat tornado is the worst especially in tiny spaces
Another fix would be to increase the time between plants spawns. Right now if you pop a set of plants you have about 2 seconds until the next set of balls is on you.
I'm posting another reply to reiterate how much I hate these volatile plants. Not many things in the game have bothered me. Even at the beginning of Dawn of the Hunt when people were complaining, I still kept playing and didn't really care. But I am thinking about quitting the game over these stupid plants.

Let me explain why they bother me so much. I am playing a SSF Smith of Kitava build. I've been doing T15 maps and have all my defense problems solved, except I only have 34% chaos resistance. On every other class I've played, 34% chaos resistance would be fine. (This is my first time playing warrior.) For every other instance of Chaos damage, 34% is totally fine; but for volatiles it is not even nearly enough. When I get by just one volatile explosion, it deals most of my health in damage. Even if I increase my chaos resistance, I would still be dying when I get hit by three. I currently have about 2.8k hp. I haven't been able to get my fourth ascension yet, or I would try the "armor applies to chaos damage from hits" ascension point.

Since I'm playing SSF, I can't just buy the correct piece of gear and I can't just swap out my gear without messing something else up with the build. I'm running Giant's Blood, so I need strength on every piece of gear. I have to run Robust Runes for extra strength, so I can't fit in Chaos Res soul cores either.

I'm currently level 89 right now, and only two things kill me: overdosing on expedition remnants and these stupid volatiles. Not that I've been counting, but in maps I've probably died at least 25 times to these dumb plants. You might wonder why I do such a bad job avoiding the volatiles, and the reason is my main skill is Leap Slam. This is certainly not a meta build, just one that I came up with. One problem is that the volatiles can still damage you while you are up in the air, so you can't jump over them if they are exploding. Sometimes I try to jump to a specific enemy and instead I jump to the nearest one. (I am not sure, but I think this is maybe due to my cursor not being placed precisely on the enemy I want to jump to.) Since it's easy to get killed jumping to the wrong enemy, I try to trigger the volatiles first before dealing with the enemies. The problem is if you haven't killed the enemies yet, that means there are a lot them, and when there are a lot of enemies I sometimes get stuck on a corner and end up dodge rolling in place. Even though I'm very careful around the volatiles, sometimes accidents still happen. I've completely given up trying to do the Rituals with chaotic plants, and this means I can't do a significant number of my Rituals.

I have tried to be as detailed as possible so that hopefully if the devs read this, they will understand what needs to change. You could cut the damage of the volatiles in half and I would still say, "That's a good start."

Please Please PLEASE fix this in the next patch before I give up on the game. I need to keep playing POE2 because it's the only known cure for my Marvel Rivals addiction.
