Crashing.. vk:Device::waitForFences: Error Device Lost
So yesterday i could not play most of the night cause of the "Unknown object type serialized by server" bug. Now that this is patched im frequently getting "vk:Device::waitForFences: Error Device Lost". Never had this bug in 0.1?
I've read that some had this bug before but now it suddenly just appeared for me. Anyone else expierence this? If so any known fixes? 最後にスレッドがバンプされた時間 時刻 2025/08/23 12:25:03

"That error has been around even in POE1. One fix was disabling IGPU if you had one. Also, Check the Config file at C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2 File should be called poe2_production_Config.ini Some have had success in just deleting it and letting poe2 create it again, while some have had to check the renderer . Find the line renderer_type=Vulkan and change it to renderer_type=DirectX12. Save and relaunch the game. |

Thanks! Disabling the IGPU worked. Been running stable now for quite a while. Weird indeed, that this issue came with the 0.2 patch.

So some findings if someone else encounters this..
1. Disabling the IGPU seemed to work, but the error came back. 2. Using Vulkan will produce the "vk:Device"-error, which seems to be vulkan related. Game crashes.. 3. Using DX12, still having issues: The client.txt only logs "[JOB] Irrecoverable Exception Callback: SET", the game freezes for 5s or more then it's seems to run again for a while. Sometimes it occurs multiple times in a row. All in all the issue seems intermittent. Im running a RTX 4070 Ti Super. Driver version 572.83. Did rollback to 572.16 and have not yet seen the issue of the "Irrecoverable Exception" running DX12. 最後に SeaSoup#4158 が 2025/04/05 18:45:48 に編集

There’s such an idea — the problem might be that when there’s no load (even something like alt-tabbing can cause this), the second (dedicated) GPU shuts down, and that may lead to “Error Device Lost.”
As an option, you can keep the GPU under some kind of load so that it doesn’t turn off even when the game isn’t running. I had it set up like that before, but now it’s gone for some reason (I made some changes to slow down battery drain on the laptop and forgot how to put it back...). I monitor the load through HWinfo, since the native Nvidia monitor doesn’t always work correctly and may not show the load even when it’s actually there. My option was to set MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner to run on the dedicated GPU (through the Nvidia driver and Windows “Graphic Settings”). There may be other methods. Anyway, I hope this helps someone. |
