#being forced to take Sanguimancy first feels bad and takes part of the fun away. Maybe move the line "Skills gain a Base Life Cost equal to Base Mana Cost" to the first small node instead, so we can pick whichever ascendancy node we want to start with.
#having 100% of base mana cost as life cost as early as Act 2 feels too punishing, especially for mages or during league start. Maybe instead, each small node could add 25% of mana cost as life cost, so the transition feels smoother and less brutal early on. #Having to sustain both mana and life costs at the same time is just too much. convert the cost to life instead maybe? or maybe if the ascendancy gave some kind of benefit for spending life, it wouldn’t feel so bad. #The class overall feels much better suited for melee, since melee attacks naturally have low skill costs. maybe intended? but then you wouldnt name it blood mage. #"Spawn a Remnant on Critically Hitting a target, no more than once every 2 seconds" remnants spawn this way should fly to you. It doesn’t make sense to have to run up to the boss to grab them as a caster. remnants spawn this way should also provide more life as you are likely going to spend way more life in 2 seconds. or maybe just having them fly to you would be enough. I have just run through campaign on blood mage, spend like 100k gold and 10ex (extra) crafting and buying gear from the vendors. Using bone cage + bonestorm all the way. I felt extremely tanky. Damage was sky high as well, Bonestorm have surprisingly high DPS .
Sanguimancy Is very good even early on whith heavy crit investment in passive tree. Without any crit gear. In league start scenario and with unlucky drops Boss monsters can be challenging, but challenging doesnt mean impossible. " I was sitting in melee range, and didnt encounter this problem. Remnants sustained my life cost and provided tankiness on top. |

Seems like they are so short staffed that they can only work on what people are complaining about the most.
Blood Mage has this perplexing problem, where it's so bad, it's nearly completely ignored by the player base. Therefore, ratio wise, the complaints about it are so quiet compared to everything else. I've dropped playing this game for a couple months now, specifically because of how ignored the Blood Mage is. It's playable, but it's awful. Constant conflicting playstyles. Bones spells are just awful compared to anything else, barring hexblast. That spell might as well heal enemies at this point. They clearly don't plan on fixing Blood Mage for a very long time. So, I will ignore the game for a very long time. It's the only class I wanted to play, yet it's the least played class on my account. Anything the Blood Mage can do, any other class can do better. |
