LVL 82 maps are too inaccessible.

I'm 14 days, 13 minutes, 8 hours into my character this league. Just short of 500,000 kills (mostly play solo)
I'm currently level 96.
In all the time I've been levelling for XP, I've barely hit any 82 maps. Perhaps only hitting the low end of double digits (might want to check my account just to see how little I hit them).

I think they are too inaccessible and considering levelling at 96 and beyond really requires them to gain any ground, they should be more frequent.

Currently having to find a corrupted/cleansed zone and pray it spawns a +1 map, then irradiate it, then use a T16 map (which in themselves are rare enough, you can ask my T14 tab about this).
I regal'd and vaal'd a full 96 tab of maps and got 12 T16 maps.
Currently this is irrelevant because I don't have 12 +1 map areas to even run them all for 82s. However it shows that the necessity to boost this and give us the end game XP we need to level up is blatently there.

At 96 a map is giving roughly 0.5% of required XP. So 200 maps, without deaths, and with sufficient pack size, is what you need to do. This might not seem that excessive but to get there you have already beaten the game, fully geared, have nothing else to do and merely drive on auto-pilot and barely think as you whittle away the hours trying to level up. Exponentiality means even thinking about going from 97 to 98 makes me want to proclaim my no-life existence.

Now I'm aware that being 96 and fully geared, it's kind of irrelevant getting to 100 for another 4 skill points. However we can then talk about the tiering of loot from 82. Not to mention the lack of level 20 skill/spirit gems because they need a lvl82 mob so only have a chance from bosses and increased level strongboxes (if they exist?).
I have yet to drop a lvl20 gem. I had to buy mine.

So to sum it up...
We need a better system of running 82 maps both for items and XP gain for those who want to hit the already ridiculous task of getting to 100. There are barely any on trade league who have put up their account on POE2Ninja. Single digits in fact.

Totally agree with you and we had a much better system. It was called 0.1 (where every corrupted map gave +1 always)....no idea why they changed it. Sucks. A LOT...
post 96 lvl is life time job (after patch 0.2)
I suggest to stop playing to avoid frustration and wait when GGG get normal decent track with this game.

I've decided to stop for a while. I'm gonna finish up the day with some trials of chaos to do a trialmaster and see what I can win. But the motivation for more maps is completely gone for me now. I can't count how many I've done but I've been playing every day, all day, since league launch. Even rolled an alt to try get some flavour back in the game but I've just ran out of steam now.
If I had a good way to grind to level 100 I would, as I've only ever hit 98 (in POE1) before so it's kind of a goal really. But most likely I will just sit out this league and wait for a better system to be put in place then do it in standard.

Considering that some maps will also have a penalty to experience (WHY??????), seems only fair to reward players for finding these clusters and playing strategically with towers.

Come on GGG. Did anyone even test out these odds before this change was implemented?

GGG dose not test SHIT, they simulate it, and if it looks good, it´s in the game.
I would bet not one single empolyee went through the struggles of playing the game from lev 1 to 90, NOT ONE.
The atlas system for POE 2 was created with inaccessibility in mind... It's not a mistake or oversight, it's GGG's primary goal at all times.

They actually do have play testers, and they 100% ignore them entirely. THey even piped up on reddit after archnem and quant destruction, they broke NDA and said GGG refuses to listen to anything they say about anything.

The vision is all that matters. Logic, thinking, common sense -- fuck all that shit Vision only.
Way too rare to get t16 / 18...
I actually like the concept of the corrupted nexus. They just need to guarantee the corrupted nexus as a +1, as well as improving the odds of getting the +1 on the corruption, and again on the reroll when cleansing.

This gives people something to actually move toward when mapping and feel like they have some reason to pay attention to the towers rather than just dumping the usual irradiate/beach/delirium trio every time.

If I knew I would average 3~4 t16 maps for each cluster, that would dramatically increase my motivation to keep exploring the atlas.

Oh, and if you are going to give an experience penalty mod, it should automatically be granted the +1 map level to balance things out.
Level 82 is still low, we should have access to at least level 84 maps like in PoE 1.

In the current reality, maps with coalesced corruption and also those with cleansed corruption should always guarantee +1 level.
