The Miracle White board suggestion!

Alright, so it seems there are a few builds with minions that are pretty good.

That being said, pre-league prep, it is a very good idea to a month or so pre league deployment to pull up a large white board and chart out how many viable builds exist in the current client for each skill gem, (mostly referring to bread an butter moves like spark)

C-D grade builds should be viable yet, simple so beginning players can see it and pick it easily while a-b can be more advanced

what happened a lot in dawn of the hunt is that, there were too few really good builds, and builds mostly centered around new content, but that least out the players who wanted to re-play their old builds and have a blast,

therefore, for highly popular builds (on this awesome white board chart) such as minions, there needs to be a charted out 5-10 + + + builds at a minimum, and you gottta gauge out their complexity because beginning players are only gonna have a few moves memorized and want to play rather than stare through every gem,

currently you guys are expecting playing to utilize 3-5 + + gems per build and sometimes right these three gems are in spear, ele and occult, so try and keep beginner even B grade combos fairly simple for the noobs, with the truly exceptional builds requiring the more advanced attention to detail and skill gem knowledge.

For less popular skill gems you should chart out a minimum of 3-5 builds PER bread and butter skill gem, and if you are going to spend the time to balence it and towards the league start you notice that there are no builds for it, feel free to disable the gem, do not waste your players time as they scour through build after build ripping and clawing tooth and nail through campaign to beat doryani on account of poor skill gem balance.

this was an issue i ran into a lot, where 4-5 skill gems in the weapon skill gem tree were great and the rest were bla, so if i was trying to use it, i was just wasting my time, minions was the same, some types are just not viable...
not viable ---> disable if it has no utility use.

you want new players and players in general to have both the option to seek out new builds, as well as, rock the uber.... builds, but if they test it, and it feels to them like a waste time, then do not expect the player to have had a good time, as they flee running to op skills, (spectral shield throw comes to mind)

you cannot have 1 button lit spear moves, clearing full screen while minion build users are hitting 5+ keys and expect them to see it on twitch and like it....... NOPE so in general the best builds should have a certain number of moves in their rotation, this will take work and time, as anything worth doing does.

Lastly, keep in mind that with the new slower pace of gameplay of poe 2, making maps takes a LOT of player time, so ANY mechanic that is going to one shot a player is going to have about 4 times the effect on the HC player as it did in poe 1, this is something that the studio needs to be mindful of going forward with the creation of a 4-6 and the highly anticipated other ascendancies.

Game rocks, can't wait to see more from next league, GGG has inspired me to make my first C# game, it is a lot like a simplified vampire survivors, thanks for all the hard work that went into the game. i cant wait for private leagues!

But there are still broken builds that clear whole map screen with one button. Especially those that use spear and lighsaber. People in 88 level clean whole maps in 30 sec and can't even reach them due to the speedy action.
Whilst you are not wrong, I believe GGG is split on whether clear speed is an issue or not.
I believe (obviously I can not know) that Jonathan doesn’t like fast clear speed and Mark doesn’t mind that but doesn’t like fast boss kills.
What we as players should want is a little less clear speed and a more tactical boss encounter in my opinion.
People are complaining about Lightning Spear, but LS is not the problem but the support gem Volt is.
Volt makes LS chain too much and to far and too often, the intelligent’nerf’ would be to change Volt from “gains 3 charges per meter travelled” to “gains 2 charges per meter travelled” and this would be a hard 33% nerf on clear speed without killing the actual skill or support. Honestly they could even decide to make it gain 1 charge per meter, I think this would be too harsh but it’s possible to solve the issue.
What GGG will probably do is end up nerfing the issue in various places and killing the skill, the support, the ascendancy and basically the class. If they do this then they don’t know their own game and should have spoken to Mark first (who imo does).
