Ascendency Failed to respec

Cleared balboa she didnt respec (to swap classes) and ate some of my skill gems.

I'm not assuming this is your problem, but for what it's worth these points are sometimes overlooked:


- If you are respeccing points that granted you additional Passive Points (e.g. Pathfinder), make sure that you have unspec'd those extra points on your Passive Tree or you won't be able to respec this ascendancy node (e.g., Traveller's Wisdom);

- If you are respeccing a Ritualist, I'd also be sure to empty any extra Charm slot or Third Ring if you are unspeccing those nodes;

- If you are currently a Titan with Colossal Capacity (doesn't sound like it in your case), be sure to empty your extra inventory slots before respeccing this ascendancy node;

- It it currently a general issue that respeccing skills granted by Ascendancies will cause you to lose any support gems socketed into those skills (I don't know if they might reappear if you re-apply the node but haven't seen anyone say that they do).

It is in fact being overlooked.
And no none of those.

- was speccing blood > litch
- ate some of my support gems

Not sure if this is your confusion but the process for swapping ascendancies (I just did it myself) is:

1) Clear the trials at a difficulty at least equal to what you've currently cleared (so if you did 3 trials and got 6 points, you need to clear at least a 3 again).

2) Use Balbala (or Trialmaster in Trial of Chaos) to unspec all points in current ascendancy.

3) Now use the ascendancy altar to pick your new ascendancy class.

I'm not confused.

If the Altar was not interactable, then it wouldn't have given you as many points as you currently have.

If you have a total of 6 Ascendancy points, then you have to clear the 3rd floor of the Trial of the Sekhemas or the 10th room of a Trial of Chaos in order to interact with the Ascendancy Altar to respec. Clearing the first floor of a Trial of the Sekhemas with 3 floors isn't enough.

If you have a total of 8 Ascendancy points, even if you got the last two from a Trial of Chaos, you'll have to clear the 4th floor of a Trial of the Sekhemas or defeat the Trialmaster in order to respec.



If you believe that you were doing the above correctly, can you show a video, or provide screenshots showing the altar not being interactable and your current Ascendancy passive tree?

The Altar of Ascendancy will be interactable even if you haven't refunded your Ascendancy points--something that has caused confusion for some people trying to unlock points 5+6, who stop on the 2nd floor because the Altar is active.

This video at the timestamp shows how it should work. At the 9 second mark, it also shows the Altar being active without refunding passives first.

In order of posting:

I fully recovered all (8) my points at the spirit but the font still remained interactable.

A max trial was completed in order to refund same. I can assure you I did it correctly as it worked on a subsequent attempt and as confirmed earlier on in this thread.

How am I getting a timestamped video 3 weeks after this transpired?

Either way I left this up as I wanted to see if it would ever get an appropriate response. I will keep this feedback in mind going forward.
