Limiting how many skills you can have feel too restricting at times

I understand in Path of Exile 1 there is a limit by slots, but usually builds have a much smaller amount of skills in general and 3 active skills can be supported by one support gem in a 4 link.

If we are going to use more skills in this game, I think the limit is too restricting, especially when I am leveling and I want to have some spirit gems, and a second weapon set skills, between active and spirit gems.

Personally I don't think there should not be a limit at all, but because there probably should be an upper limit it should be at least double of current. You already removed the Gemling additional skills, and I think you should also rework the gemling ascendancy passive, even though it feels way weaker than the Smith of Kitava ascendancy for max resistance.

I understand this would also need to rework Unset Rings.

Some suggestions:
Make them so they provide one extra slot on the equipped skill but can't go over 5 slots/6link.

Make it so that you can slot a support gem on the ring, and you can apply to TWO skills over 1.

Make it so that you can equip one support gem of each type without the necessary stat requirements.

Just make them equip jewels, or rune. Maybe Ruby Jewel allows a free Strength Support Gem.

I disagree. Definition should be the focus, rather than Brute-forcing. If one gets everything for no Afflictions, why the hell we learn from Balbala's Knowledge....

I honestly do not understand what you're trying to say with this. What are we talking about Brute-Forcing? I also didn't mention anything about afflictions, maybe you replied to the wrong post?
