Is There a Reason Why We Still Have to Pull ~9 Levers in the Matlan Waterways?

9 levers, not including the big one at the end I counted this playthrough.

Did/does GGG have more content planned for this area? Running through a long, winding, corridor to pull a big lever at the end with no rewards and nothing worthwhile along the way. Peak game design.

As it stands, this slog of an area serves zero purpose to be in the game, especially with the length and tedium it serves.

When you put the large soul core into the mantle to get access to the area, it should be a short jaunt to an area boss that actually serves some purpose and drops something worthwhile. Maybe the area boss uses the big lever platform as a throne. Who knows.

Either make the area worthwhile and interesting or just delete it. Please.

All we can do is continue spamming the exact same feedback we've been providing for months, that we want a shorter campaign, more streamlined, less tedium.

Hopefully GGG will start to listen eventually.

I hope GGG will listen a bit more too.

Matlan also stands out because it is either one of the couple, or the only area we have to go through which doesn't have either an area boss, or a reward from doing it.

Venom crypts you get the vial. No Area boss.

Drowned City you get a couple loot vaults. No Area boss. Access to two new areas with bosses. The area layout of this area is relatively consistent and easier to run through than Matlan.

Mawdun you get a loot cache. No area boss.

Dreadnought. No area boss or loot box, like Matlan. But the area length is far shorter.

Path of Mourning has only a rare you get to kill like Matlan. Area length is far shorter.

Lost City has the rare loot scarab and the shrine you get to choose for a charm.

Act 1 in each area has something relatively interesting.

The length to complete the area and tedium going through it vs the reward (or lack thereof) at the end is quite puzzling.
I dont Like this arew, but there IS also a definite rewards.

The uniques at the end, that definitly Drops a rare caster weapon. IT will Always be a caster weapon.

Why are people complaining about having to roleplay in a roleplay game? I am trying to wrap my head around it.
Lol complaining about clicking 9 times, in a game where you click 845618641684 times.
