Any chance we can remove the criteria to craft gems

I am trying to craft a set of gems to swap from one weapon type to another. To do this I want to stock the gems in my inventory until I have everything I need before I redo my tree and swap over. However it is a pain in the butt. If I want to make a bow gem I have to go get a bow equip it make the gem, unequip the bow. Don't get me started on gems that require int instead of dex etc, if I want to prep by stashing I need to redo my tree just to make a gem then swap back in order to be able to keep killing with my old gear and build.

I guess I do not understand why the requirement is on the craft instead of the equip.

If there is anyone who knows of a way around this let me know.

I am dumb, I can just make a lower rank version for placeholders, mods feel free to delete this thread.
In Options - Game - General there is a setting to disable Gemcutting Restrictions.

The skill gem will still appear greyed out with an exclamation mark if you don't currently meet the requirements, but you can still click on it and engrave the gem.

No need to make placeholders if you have the appropriate level uncut gems.

I actually am not sure if this was supposed to be a more intuitive user friendly design here... but uhh..

I find this system way more awkward to work with then the old system of buying gems from vendors etc. Could just be me.

(Tangential) The fact that selling uncut gems can be so profitable does suggest that it is perceived to be more cumbersome than it should be.
