no more life in the tree

ok, you said life passives were a noob trap, they ignored them most of the time, get one-shot and frustrated

now you removed the passives, so that... its now fair and we all get one-shot?

all the crazy monster damage scaling from map mods stayed the same (or got buffed), our ability to scale life was removed

I got to the point with my evasion character, where I get randomly one-shot, especially by map boss non-telegraphed AoE skills, and it seems there is nothing I can do about it. Normally I would assume I need more life, but where to get it? I already have it in all the possible items and rune slots

so what can I do? get Acrobatics and sacrifice 75% of evasion to get 70% chance to be one-shot rather than 100%, or?

btw, seeing the telegraphed abilities through my own skill effects is not easy task either

The lack of health pool is insane. the cost of a item that has high health on it is impossible to afford, they need to increase our health pool as we level up to have a chance

I already have high health on all items where possible, as well as life runes. It feels there is nothing I can do

how can I possibly counter mods like 25% resist penetration (effectively 100% more elemental damage taken), let alone combination of the mods?

Its weird when you contrast the low health pools with 10k+ energy shields. Why are they so huge!? Im capped on armor/evasion and I die to random bs when my friend can tank 10x the hits with a scrawny witch. It doesn't make sense. Maybe armor should give health to balance HP and ES pools. Or ES just needs to come down to normal levels. I think the whole game should be balanced around that 3000HP mark rather than 15kES+2kHP. Once you balance player defences, its gonna be so much easier to balance enemy damage etc. This is my biggest wish for the game rather sooner than later!
I think It is all part of a big mess, as they created a game sequel with completely different gameplay philosophy, yet reused half of original game concepts and mechanics

And then think back to when grimfeast and shock siphon were a thing.

Imagine if life had a "every enemy that dies heals you 1000hp and also doubles total life". Would prob still be worse than current ES.

Well... technically armour gives life, because it has STR requirement. And currently STR = 2hp

But lets face it, that 300 STR the casual average full STR build that makes that 600 hp extra wont change the game when every enemy hits 2-4k.
You either evade or block the damage completely or you're dead.

I often complain about its a bad design that block and evade has "infinite" scale potential

Because ES builds can have 75% res, get a 10k bolt, after mitigation they get a 2.5k damage
10k ES 7.5k still left.

An armour and dex build have 75% resistance
PLUS balanced to a chance that they have 75% chance to block or evade that 10k bolt
but in that 25% chance you get that 2.5 mitigated damage your 2k healthpool will only be enough to click on the respawn b button faster.

Not to mention for STR its not even the armour that helped, it was the shield...
If you're a non-shield user in armour only that physical mitigation wont do much.

Yes... that's why people ask that we either need life nodes, or at least armour should have life stats baseline
or STR should give more HP.


ES build already ha more advantage because while INT only gives extra mana, INT can be converted both to damage and hitpoints.
