Changes to movement speed on boots
Movement speed in boots is an indispensable attribute due to its impact on gameplay, and virtually all builds will always try to ensure their boots have it. This means it becomes a fixed attribute, leaving only five other available. Finding boots without movement speed almost guarantees a discard.
If their usefulness were limited to certain builds, it wouldn't be a problem, but that's not the case, and that's why it would be good to consider rethinking how to improve movement speed without making boots the primary source of it. The first thing I consider is that this attribute should be removed from boots, and to compensate, character speed should be moderately increased (approximately 15-20%). A good way to integrate this change is to use it as permanent upgrades in campaign mission rewards (perhaps two 10% rewards). Next, to keep boots as an option to affect movement without being essential, one attribute they could have is "x% reduced Slowing Potency of debuffs on you", which offers that conditional movement boost, but it's not mandatory for boots to have it if you don't want them to. Finally, since boots currently grant up to 35% speed, to compensate for this maximum loss, the values from other sources could be slightly increased, thus giving them more value for choosing. 最後にスレッドがバンプされた時間 時刻 2025/05/28 18:26:40

I agree wholeheartedly. Movement speed is probably the most important stat in the game, and just too valuable to forego on boots.
Base foot speed should just be +20% ~ let's say by beating two enemies in acts 1 and 4; then I'd like to see the option for a speed rune (+7%) and some nodes in various agile class trees much as the amazon has access to via Acceleration etc. Be nice to have +roll distance runes too; or 0.5s immunity on exiting a roll ... but hey, one can only wish! |

I would love it if they increased base character movement speed and adjusted speed affixes on boots. I like the idea of a reduced slowing effect instead.
For me +20% movement speed is a huge threshold. It's where this feels like a modern video game, as opposed to something made in the 90s. Movement speed above 20% feels like I'm adding character power, as opposed to countering my character's weakness (which is how the first 20% feels) PoE2 already gives us so many problems to solve, between resistances and defenses and stuns and status effects and more. These can be really fun to engage with, but movement speed feels like you're just trying to make your character not suck. |

BEST option would be adding only boots runes (10%, 15%, 20%), which might be implented in single copy and only if boots has no movement speed already.
If you rolled it on the boots itself - okay, you can use another rune and your bonus might be even better. If you have a pair of nice boots, but have no mandatory property - use a rune, as cost of the rune slot. Also, i dont love idea of essential properties at all, like a spirit for summoners or +level of spell gems for casters. 最後に PantsuFaust#0269 が 2025/05/28 13:50:46 に編集
