Simulacrum respawn deaths

I recently did my first simulacrum and made it to around encounter 11, one of the tiny field areas and died. It was my first time so had my respawns to use. except it respawned me into the mob on monsters, including the boss like rare where i was insta killed. as soon as i would hit respawn I would die instantly [less than a second] I couldnt even see my character. I lost all my attempts Because it spawned me inside the monster pack. I dont know if this was a bug or intended. But I will never use or attempt another Simulacrum again after this.
