After watching a review about Jonathan latest interview, I have to give you my feedback.

Dear GGG Development Team,

As a long-time player of PoE1, my first impression of PoE2 was much more positive than expected.

I started as a Witchhunter and the campaign was hard, (I see it positively) I even had to buy weapons via trade-site from Act 2 onwards.
Later on in the game, I liked the constant difficulty and above all the complexity that had to be applied to make any progress at all.

The forced “chaining” of skills deserves special praise: Manual marking, manual cursing, shocking using Galvanic Shards which you had to recognize and then switching ammo to Shockburst Rounds to kill bosses.

I have to emphasize this here because I found it extremely positive. Too hard for beginners? YES, definitely! But I really liked the direction.

The disappointment I felt when I first encountered Amazon and then subsequently (even worse) Deadeye. Classic 1 button heroes, at least for the most part, who came close to or exceeded my 30-40div crossbow dmg with SSF gear.

To cut a long story short:
- This is PoE2 and it shouldn't feel like an extension of PoE1
- I like the rather strict attribute/resistance requirements.
- Although I was initially extremely against “no (deterministic) crafting”: It was the completely correct decision.

I really hope you give PoE2 his own unique feel (like i thought u did when i was playing Witchhunter) instead of another Speedfarming, Screenflashing, groups dominated Craftingfestival.

The game needs to get out of this identity crisis as soon as possible, it's really hurting it.
Then it should be called by something other than path of exile don't you think? Can't imagine a sequel that isn't extension of the original, that is probably bc it wouldn't be a sequel then 🤣

imagine if there was a series of fantasy games that all had completely different storylines and settings, and they were wildly successful, and there were about 15 of them and they all had the same name. That would be pretty weird right.
The Amazon build that I am playing (not following any guide) is not a one button build and I've been having a lot of fun with it so far.

I am playing a mix of Melee + Projectile (Whirling Slash and Twister are my two main skills) but I also heavily rely on Cull The Weak, Explosive Arrow, and Sniper's Mark.

Fang's of Frost was a big help in the campaign with the bosses, as I would Parry and then freeze them. In end game, I still use the normal Spear Throw when the occasion calls for it. I do have Raise Shield and Parry for certain occasions too, but I don't use them nearly as much as I used to in the campaign.

I explored the first 2 tiers of Amazon skills this season, but I did not explore many after that. So I am not sure if I am missing anything cool...

It would be nice if there were more skills that worked in combination with each other though, specifically defensive moves. I would love to have a large selection of defensive moves to add into my rotation :)

My second biggest take away is that he said just like diablo 4 is built off the skeleton (and still contains) of it's predecessor. So every issue of balance poe1 has will forever plague poe2 for "better" or worse.

that's just not true. once you play one JRPG, you have played them all, they're all exactly the same game

that's just not true. once you play one JRPG, you have played them all, they're all exactly the same game
