Game is unplayable right now (peformance issues)

Hey, how are you all?

So started playing patch 0.1 when it was released. I'm running it on a fairly decent setting notebook:

11th gen intel core i-7 2.30GHz, 32 ram, rtx 3060 6g.

Patch 0.1 was kind of fine, not the best performance experience I've expected but it was playing nicely on balanced. A few stutters here and there.

Well, I stopped playing in mid January. Just reinstalled to check the new patch and was amazed to see the game is just unplayable. I'm losing frames, the stutters is gigantic. I can't even risk maps this way. Is there a performance issue addreses? Is there anything I can do? Because seems like the settings I was using before will simply not suffice.

One thing that I think might be going on is it seems like they've added a bunch of particle effects and there isn't really a way to turn that down. I've noticed if I play a frost build even my 4080 super starts dropping a lot of frames and lagging.

I have a high end rig, and even turned down all of my settings. For the past day or two now I've had a small spike on the red line causing a disproportionately large frame time spike.

I have i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz, 24GB ram, Radeon RX 580 8GB, Normal HDD.
0.1 was playable for me with lots of fun, fps was ~24. But now, at map with areas of burning ground, even with pause active, I got 4-7 fps. On normal maps I quickly get tired of the game, because low number of fps, it is about 14-20. I tried both DX versions and Vulcan. All settings at minimum, I even reduced the resolution to lower than my monitor supports. Nothing.

I don't plan on changing my PC anytime soon, so I'll have to say goodbye to POE2. Or play POE1, it runs very well, but... this game doesn't really suit me.

I find this shocking that you guys with good spec PCs are having issues, when on Xbox Series (bugs aside) it runs so well except for disconnecting from servers (which JR says they’re already looking into, something to do with new providers they got for the shear mass of PoE2 players).
I have a friend who plays on PC, I will ask him for a capture of his GFX settings and post it on to see if it helps those struggling.

Number of monsters on screen can really impact performance, which wouldn't be much of an issue if this wasn't an ARPG.

maybe thats because... those cards... arent particularly good? ::shrug::

Im having issues with the 11th gen i7 2Ghz claim, thats on your side if thats the clocks you are running with that CPU

More likely that expectations of them are too high and people set unsustainable settings.
PoE2 on PC or console isn’t exactly a game that the fidelity between lowest and highest settings is game changing (except maybe texture quality). Perhaps lowering settings and in some cases resolution would fix most of the above cases, it plays fine on friends wife’s PC with a GTX 1080 but an i7 6700k 4ghz as PoE (1 and 2) are really really CPU intensive.
