Scammer spoofed my name when doing a large trade

Earlier i tried to sell an item (last flame) and had another player join to buy it. He asked to use one of my friends as a middleman which i was fine with, i passed the item to my friend. I started getting a bit suspicious cause he kept disconnecting so i called the trade off, i asked my friend for the item back and apparently the guy had spoofed my name and spam traded him and got the item.

How would he have done this? Ive clipped majority of what happened, can GGG even do something about this? i know they log everything, but im guessing im out of luck
