[PoE2] Severe FPS drops and stuttering

Hi,

I’m reaching out because I’ve been experiencing severe performance issues while playing PoE2 for some time now. Specifically, I’m encountering frequent and drastic FPS drops — for example, from 60 FPS down to 1 — along with noticeable stuttering during gameplay. These performance drops happen very often and make the game almost unplayable.

Initially, I thought the problem was due to my GPU (RTX 2070 Super), but I recently upgraded to an RTX 4070 Super, and the issue still persists. I also made a clean install of Windows. My current system specs are:

GPU: RTX 4070 Super

CPU: Intel i5-10400F

RAM: 16GB

OS: Windows 11

Interestingly, I’ve tested the game on a laptop with significantly worse hardware, and it runs much more smoothly and consistently on that system, without the kind of performance drops I’m seeing on my main PC.

These issues weren’t present when I first started playing — the game used to run smoothly — so I’m not sure what changed.

Could you please assist me in identifying the cause of this issue or let me know if there are any recommended settings or fixes I should try?
