Some feedback on 0.2.1

I really really want to like the game. After the patch my hopes were high that it was going to solve my main issue - that the only way I gear up is by going to the trade site and buying specific items. It feels like I play just for the currency and then spend way too much time on the trade site. That is not how ARPGs should be in my opinion. The fun should be in the hunt for gear or in leveling.

Leveling is way way too slow. It takes forever to level and after you have done the campaign several times its an incredibly boring chore. Its just not fun. One top of that the death penalty is rage inducing at high levels.

Where is the usable gear? I am getting the new socketables and maybe a few more exalts but where are the divs? 30+ hours in (all in endgame) and not a single div. Also I don't notice any improvement on unique drops. Feels the same to me. Plus I have no idea if I have the unique until I try and put in into inventory, then I try and compare the states to see if its better. Just collecting uniques for alts is a chore. In other games the gear hunt is rewarding. I have no doubt you are trying to improve things, but what is being done is not working. Perhaps some logic is needed to tailor the drops to the class or build? I do use a loot filter but almost everything displayed is not useful to me at all.

Crafting? Maybe I am doing things wrong, but crafting just feels like a setup for failure. Things are just so random it hardly seems worth the time. Yes I can try and smash items together with the combinator but thats only two stats. So I am supposed to just collect all kinds of similar items and just keep smashing them to by chance get two stats, then exalt it for 4 more and then throw it back in my inventory when none of those 4 are useful to my build? Brings me back to my point above. Everything drives me to the trade site. Item upgrades by chance just feels lousy. POE1 had several systems where you could enhance items with what you wanted. Although not as good as Last Epochs forging it worked and I feel something like that is needed. I want to customize my gear not play the lottery for each affix.

Endgame. This actually feels worse to me. Maybe I am in the minority, but the towers are now so far apart that I feel lost and unfocused, where I used to just head for the nearest tower and they were not that far away. Being able to add multiple enhancements to the towers is great but they feel harder to get to. Plus, by the time I make my way over to the next tower I had to do a good portion of the content in between and get distracted choosing between the maps I want to run and those I don't and now with more variety I jump all over. Also, it looks like magic find quality and quantity are missing from juicing, so it's mostly about adding different end game content to maps. I really haven't found end game content to be rewarding. I liked ritual early on but now when I look through the inventory at the end much of it is useless for me and I usually walk away with an exalt or one of the crafting behavior modifiers. With no rewards I really don't want to do them unless I absolutely need too. All that said running maps gets boring super quick. It feels like it's just a gateway for deeper endgame content, but I am not geared for that, so for me it ends up being a place where I just churn through the same unrewarding content looking to improve my gear without success.


This game has great bones. I really do love the gameplay, but the systems are broken. The gear hunt is completely unrewarding, leveling in general is way too slow and after level 75 its just punishing. The road to higher endgame content is too long, especially with seasons. The clock is ticking to try and level before the economy goes out of whack and I can't afford to hit trade. I really dont know how SSF guys do it. At this point I should note I play solo, so all of my comments are based on single player / no grouping but I dont play SSF because I rely on trade.

Please take this all as constructive. I know this is incredibly complex and my feedback may not align with the vision of the designers. I know I am not alone on most of this feedback. Hopefully you guys can come up with solutions that makes everyone happy.
