Chayula Monk Ascendancy Idea - Embrace the Darkness
Just wanted to pitch this idea that I think would be rather sick and flavorful for literally embracing the darkness. Instead of removing the spirit buffs all together, why not add scaling chaos DPS based on decreasing your light radius? It could be something like a small ascendancy node adds 10-15% reduced light radius, 1st major node could be something like gain 3% damage as extra chaos damage for every 10% reduced light radius. Then maybe another -15% light radius, and then finally reward the player with something like “Light Radius effect is reversed”, which would give players a baseline -70% light radius, but also still allow use of the minimap. But doing this would incentivize players to play items like gloomform or actively roll for light radius (which, generally speaking) is considered a useless stat… but this would add a very unique identity to Chonk and would literally make players “embrace the darkness”.
Just shooting my shot here 🤷🏼♂️ I personally am dying to see a sick ascendancy for a “Chaos Monk” cause the idea is just too cool. Thanks for reading. Really hope the idea is considered :) 最後にスレッドがバンプされた時間 時刻 2025/07/05 12:16:07

I also wanted to clarify cause I thought about this some more, but that final node would be something along the lines of “Your base light radius is zero, the effect of light radius is inverted”.
So effectively, at zero light radius with an inverted effect on light radius, you are still able to see the minimap. Going below zero light radius (by stacking light radius) would both add chaos dps and allow you to see more on the minimap. I hope the idea makes a bit more sense now |

I put together a much more detailed explanation and also balanced it as well in my reddit explanation of how this would work here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExile2/s/7ULm757xfa
Thanks for taking the time to read all this :) |
