Chaos Inoculation not working

I have 8.1k ES and capped resists on my Sorc and I just tried CI but everything just oneshoot me. Shield is full and I insta die. I have tried different maps so it's not some wierd problem in one map.

Check in your skill tree for something like "% of Damage taken bypasses Energy Shield"
"Heavy buffer" is the most common of such type of "feature"


Don't forget, with CI, your life is equal to 1. So everything that bypass the energy shield without any other protective layer in second hand, will oneshot you.

Before the huge nerf of "mind over the matter" (which has been rendered useless now), it was common for CI build to add this protective layer between shield and life to allow damages bypassing energy shield, being redirected to mana.

Other example : if you are using "The Black Doubt Hexer's Robe" as armour, there is a mention that say "Damage over Time bypasses your Energy Shield", so for example , ignite is a damaging ailment that deals fire damage over time. (elemental type)

So "The Black Doubt Hexer's Robe" + CI + Ignition = Oneshot death
