Bug with Herald of Ash

I upgraded my HoA to level 10 from 4 and it was working then I took it out and now I can't get it to work again. I have the requirements. The new HoA I made that is level 4 works. It says I don't have the right weapon type but I do and I've tried other martial weapons.
