Server connexion lost

I was in the ruins of Vaal, I placed my chest piece to upgrade it and get a gem on it, so it dropped on the ground. I also looted some currency, including 2 chaos, but the game tells me that the connection to the server has been lost and I have now lost my chest piece and my looted items, including my currencies. Do you have any way of helping me?
