Stuns in first second of roll/sprint

When I press dodge roll and hold it down it feels like I am getting stunned (as if it is reading as trying to sprint). I am not actually "holding it down" but firmly pressing it and tapping to make sure it registers because I want to get the hell out of whatever corner where mobs are surrounding me!
