Map generation fixes are reverted?

In previous iterrations of the game maps, specially in campaign, had a lot of dead ends, where you want to explore a side path only to recognize way too late that it is an unrewarding dead end.
I remember changes made to this in a way that reduces dead ends to be generated in the first place and also to have reward chests at the end of such dead ends. But neither change seems to be present in 0.4, I encounter a lot of maps in my 2nd campaign playthrough that have a lot of empty dead ends.

I've seen GGG (and other amature devs) make this mistake again and again and again. And they dont learn.

They have multiple programmers working on the project, each programmer has his own version of the program hes writing and testing his code, these arnt usually updated as theyre just working on single bits of code, then when its done they send off thier files, with the old version of the software and the code theyve written to be compiled into the main branch. But some dick head allways overwrites code that has been finished by other programmers when they upload thier changes to the code, setting the project back months.
