So quick dumb question. Why Cannibalistic rite?

We arent attacking, these are all spell tags. And if we lower the cost of mana doesnt that counteract all the increases we have been trying for this whole time?

What am I missing there.
Cannibalistic Rite got reworked along with the melee changes, it used to slightly reduce skill costs and increase the damage of skills that cost life, now it converts a fraction of an attack's cost into life. Its a left over from previous version afaict and should be replaced with either another cost reduction or damage anointment.
I have a question about the skill setup for energy blade. Why do you link so many marks and hexes to the cast when damage taken setup? Is it purely to get above 100 mana cost? I dont see how these stack.
Having played this autobomber quite a bit I can now give my verdict.

Pros:
Satisfying screen cancer
lazy playstyle. As soon as you trigger shock, it is a pretty walking simulator.
can have alot of damage.

Cons:
damage is inconsistent (due to 50% trigger rate on kitava. It is not uncommon to be 1-2 seconds without trigger)
energy blade version is extreamly squishy. It is by far the squishiest build I have played. The only survival mechanisms of this build are already used up to keep the storm secret self-damage at bay. You get easily one-shot, but even if you survive, your HP/energy shield leeches very slow. Since you need leech, you must be extremely careful around bosses with invulnerability stages.
non-energy blade version has rather low damage output. It is enough for mobs, but as soon as bosses have some kind of regen, you basically cannot kill them.
Alot of map mods brick this build: no or reduced HP-regen/leech, enemy avoid elemental ailment, burning ground (kind of if you cannot find enemies to leech from), reflect (although can be respect). Reduced elemental resistance is also pretty bad because the build struggles to res cap.
Even with energy blade, triggering shock using flame dash is not guaranteed. But I am able to trigger shock within 3 flame dashes around 90% of the time.

tldr:
This build is a nice gimmick for people that look for something unique. Experienced players can get 2 voidstones with this build, but beyond this is extremely difficult or near impossible without high investment.
