Corruption Altar Bug

Same happened to me. I moved my boots into the corruption UI, clicked, the item disappeared and the cursor changed to the arrow with a little circle as if I had something picked up.

I then clicked my inventory, and it disappeared. Now I can't interact with things like picking up the medium soul core that I'm here for or the town portal.

After logging out and logging back in, I had my old boots (I think) at the cursor and could equip them again or put them in my inventory. Other interactions worked fine.

Your item should be on your cursor when you log back. Also for that altar you dont put the item into the altar but instead take the triangle out of the altar and click an item in your inv.

How come is this problem not fixed yet? This just happened to me. I exited the game and relaunched it but the item is gone now.
