fix one thing break 2 others.
That is "the vision" or lack there of. They don't look at the broad picture. they never have, they lost all the smart game developers and just use, ai, third party programs, and outsource to their teams in you know where. Its as big of a mess as Blizzard but with worse PR since its Jonathan who cant get the idea that we need a refined new numbers system for their "new" game. Otherwise, expect POE1 all over again and nobody wants to play except bots, whales, rmt sellers and china. |

" Look bro, its near Mercenery's passive area. So Mercenery's characters are semi rangers semi warriors. If Devs lowering a little the Percentage radius penalty then its possible to be used by Mercenaries too. They already reduced overall Presence radius. It is not acceptable to punish Mercenery class. Also warrior class uses some passives that comes from Mercenery area. |

Reading this now is kind of funny considering some of the strongest builds utilize this unique lol.

Devs said that will improve old Uniques.
I didn't see any improvements. Deepest tower should have more modifiers and reductions to presence radius should go away. |

I welcome this nerf. The item was always supposed to be a a unique that should mainly be used by melee characters or by characters, that utilize close and personal combat. You want to use it as mercenary? You can still do so, but you have to fight in melee range in order to (ab)use it. An item being a unique doesnt mean all its effects have to be positive. A unique is there to enable "unique" builds/playstyles that are not possible with rare items.
And when I see so many people complaining here, it's just proof that too many people actually abused it to have an "easy game". I mean, obviously it's extremely strong to have a ranged character being able to use "stars aligned" and execute support gem without any drawbacks... |

" Lol...Are you kidding me bro? I use it instead of reductions and guess what, can't reach even the half of a common spear's damage despite having a crossbow with 650 damage. Skills of Merc are garbage compared to other classes. Imagine people that use Crossbows with 300-400 damage how painful is! If you don't believe me, believe the monthly analysis stats of class choose. A little more presence radius wouldn't bring the revolution in Crossbow damage. |

" The problem you have pointed out though is not a problem with the unique nerf, but with Mercenary as a class itself. A class shouldnt be playable just because of one unique. If the unique was the only item that made mercenary viable, then mercenary needs a buff. And I can see how mercenary would become overpowered, if they buff the class, but didnt nerf the deepest tower before. Balancing a game is so freaking hard. Players can't understand how much effort it takes. It's quite similiar to soccer fans, that scream at the TV "WHY DIDNT THESE GUYS STOP THE BALL. ARE THEY BLIND?!". As a pure fan that never played himself, you cannot see the game from the soccer players perspective. Same applies here. As a player that has no clue about gamedevelopment, players can't grasp the difficulty to develop a game, especially one with so many character build options as the PoE franchise. While PoE1 had the advantage of starting with a low number of uniques and gems and a fairly easy passive tree, PoE2 tries to start with more content then PoE1 has developed over 11 years of continious updates. Players should finaly start to realize this difference and be more patient or leave EA to those, who can handle constant updates/balance changes/nerfs and maybe even full resets at some point during EA. |

" Indeed becouse all players chase the 1-2 builds that class have. Mercenery's class depends 80% of Deepest tower's build couse is the build that boost significally the already junk skills Crossbow has. If you use another weapon it's another story more promising but most people playing Merc use Xbow. The basic problem is that even with the use of Deepest tower the damage of Xbow still is the worst of all weapons... So punishing the players with on more negative modifier is a disaster. I hope one day Devs understand this. |

Maybe ranged/caster weapons can have an inherent penalty to Presence AoE, like how STR armours have with movement speed.
