% Increased Gear Bugged?

Am I crazy? Is gear that has the "x% increased Evasion/Armor/etc." bugged?

I have gloves that have an Evasion Rating = 10.
I have a new pair of gloves that have an Evasion Rating = 32, but the new gloves have a 24% increased Evasion Rating.

When I equip the new gloves, my Evasion Rating goes from 226 to 248. Shouldn't my Evasion Rating increase more than that because of the % modifier?

Sorry if I'm totally off here, I can't imagine someone hasn't noticed this before...

Percentage increase to defense modifiers on gear are generally local to that piece of gear. They scale the defensive stat on that piece of gear only, unless they are stated to be "Global."


If you have an affix (modifier) for "24% Increased Evasion" on armour (body armour, helmet, gloves, boots, or a shield), that is considered to be a "Local" mod and is applied only to that one piece of gear. The same thing happens with %physical damage modifiers on weapons. These modifiers are factored into the stats you see displayed on the item, as are flat modifiers.

"% Increased Evasion Rating" on the passive tree would apply to your overall evasion rating (against your base flat evasion before multipliers), if it doesn't say otherwise. This is considered to be a "Global" modifier.

"% Increased Evasion" on an amulet would be a global modifier and apply your total (base) evasion, because the amulet doesn't have evasion as an implicit stat (even if it has flat evasion as a modifier).



In your example, if you switched from one pair of Gloves (10 evasion) to a second pair (32 evasion), the difference will indeed be 22 if your character does not otherwise have evasion scaling on their passive tree or any other global mods. The local mods are already applied in the Evasion Rating you see shown for the gloves (the 32 evasion already includes the bonus).
