Tangle Tongue Bug?

Im following a lightning spear build and everything works fine with my seaglass spear, but when I swap to tangle tongue like the guide suggests my spear abilities(lightning spear, storm lance, and barrage) are no longer usable. When I press one of the actions(such as mouse 1) My characters head glows red and I hear a strange sound. The only thing that changes in my build is literally switching to tangle tongue.

I cant find info or a reason for this anywhere!!!

Does your original spear have stats (strength or dex) that you needed?

That's apparently an indicator that the skill has a Life cost, and you aren't able to pay it.

Tangletongue converts a portion of your Mana costs to Life costs. You aren't able to pay Life costs if you're a Lich with Eternal Life allocated.

JADIAN!!!!! Thank you so much. That solved the problem. I didnt realise the life steal was happening. I turned off Chaos Inoculation and it works!
