Choosing Blood Mage "Gore Spike" Ascendancy does not increase critical damage from skill gems.

Noticed the same thing today. Not sure if it doesn't work at all or just bugged tooltip info. Adding health doesn't change my critical hit bonus, specing off the ascendancy node also doesn't change any value.
