Jonathan is myopic
" Strong agree. But the playerbase attacked Chris Wilson much worse. I think it's the nature of free-to-play games. They attract the most emotionally disregulated people. I think part of the reason the PoE2 subreddit is less toxic than the PoE subreddit is the $30 entry fee. |

These people always blame the director, they did it with Diablo 3 and Hellgate too, they have weird expectation of ARPGs...I wouldnt be surprised if most of the ARPG community is on the spectrum.

There's a very simple solution to this problem, and it would fix everything from the tone-deaf vision of PoE 2 to the abandonment of PoE.
Unfortunately that simple solution is beyond our control, without a partition atleast. Mark on the other hand understands players, he knows what we want and more importantly knows how to deliver. Until then we can only continue to post the same feedback day in day out ad nauseam, drowning out the overly vocal minority of brown nosed trolls as best we can. Poe2 has the potential to become successful, all the groundwork has already been played out with PoE, just take that framework and add to it. |

The worst think is not to answer people in forums by the official GGG team. Even a big "NO" to people's suggestions will be respectful.
But talking in forums with not even understanding if someone of Devs bothers to read what community people suggest, shows the value of everything in this game. I don't even mention to support team couse is another big failure. |

" In the days of yore, GGG was very active on the forums and in the subreddit. And you know what it got them? Reams of abuse and personal attacks. So they stopped. I've actually used this as data to support my belief that, starting in 2016, people got meaner. Especially online. It wasn't just the PoE fanbase, but holy crap they became unhinged, especially after lockdown. Now they do interviews with streamers who provide them the questions ahead of time. It's still way better than I see other companies doing, but it isn't how it used to be. About forum posts: Mark said in an interview that he doesn't read long forum posts. He said quick bullet points, or bingo-style grids, were the best ways to provide feedback. Frankly, I think they have a pretty good idea of what the playerbase thinks. It's just going to take a long time to solve the problems. |
