Endgame - what are you doing about it
Many people have been complaining about the experience loss, and there are pro and cons, each with its own merits, but let me put it in the perspective of endgame.
So, got to level 96, killed all the bosses on highest difficulty levels, which in my case is hard to sustain, so I like it to downplay it a level since getting the mats for many of them is still a pain, and with 1 portal only they go like butter cookies. Gear is quite good, and anything else that I could find to improve it has insane costs for small gains. "What is left to do?" I am sure many in this situation have asked themselves as well. One thing only, obviously... get to 100, or at least as close as you could. So, fight through dozens of maps, and get yourself surrounded with lightning and meteor shrines, your own spells effects and dice your way thorough the monsters. Then, when no monster is left in sight, go pick up the spoils, while fire, lighting etc. still goes on your view, hiding anything. You head toward that unlikely nice rare drop, and then boom, something explodes under your feet, and you are gone, just like that. Your are left looking at your monitor in stunned disbelief. "What the hell has just happened?" Ow, well, the devs decided that was fun - and you need to redo another dozens of maps to get the to point that you were in your way to the 100. So I curse, and log out of the game and go play something else. Many people have asked why the experience loss is not removed. The answer is easy. They do not have anything else for the endgame, and the elusive 100 level is the only thing to work toward, and they wanted to be there so people will keep playing. But it gets old really quickly, and they still stop playing. Look, I really don't care about it, but I want some endgame, some purpose to work toward. My char gets blown of by ground effects after monster are gone, or 1 shot by a white one that luckily escaped the wrath? Have something that will help mitigate those effects as you work your way to 100. Maybe after a while, you are strong enough to survive those, and with that your experience loss occurs less often. Maybe add some defensive layers, or improve the existing ones. And add in some story and have some other stuff that you need to work toward in the endgame. Devs, I know you have lots of stuff to work on, but give the endgame some love, will ya? 最後にスレッドがバンプされた時間 時刻 2025/05/21 15:59:54

Ah I hoped this would address the actual problems with endgame rather than another XP loss rant thread.
Use omens of amelioration, they're cheap, if you're steamrolling everything cept for the occasional BS death then you won't suffer the EXP loss by using them. What you should be doing instead of chasing 100 which does nearly nothing for you is chasing those "insane cost items". I don't buy the "minimal gains" on gear argument while things like "Against the darkness" and other endgame jewels exist that can give you like +60% more multiplier on your damage. What we need is a wider array of viable build choices that expands upon the gear you chase for. You know endgame is going well when noone is actually caring about lvl 100 but about "clearing X mechanic (IE Sekhs) as fast as possible with as minimal risk as possible for profit" |
