Drop issue

Hi,
I've been playing for quite some time now and I honestly don't really want to keep playing
I don't know why but after not playing for a while after the new league came out I came back to play and luckily everything is expensive on the trade site I'm stuck in Act 2 unable to continue because I'm not getting any valuable currency to trade for good gear
The game is POE 2
I don't know how relevant this will be
I play as a Ranger
I'd love to know if the issue is my luck or if something has changed in the drop rate

Your safest option to work around this is the stomping ground support on rake. Stomping ground will trigger AOE shock waves that use the raw strength attribute for damage and rake just lets you use it without cooldown. No need for gear, gems, etc, just use level 3 rake and the shittiest spear from act 1, and class doesn't matter at all.

Then you just wait for the items to drop, or have enough currency for trade.


As for whether this is an issue or not:

I'm just playing fresh leagues on SSF all the time and I would consider base item types to be completely useless. So you always have to rely on random modifiers and there's always a chance that you'll get unlucky.

This alone can be somewhat rare but that's where the skill system comes into play because it specializes you into specific item types and modifier groups, which in return increase your chances of unlucky run.

If you add non-class starters to this mix (i.e. play maces on a sorc), you can easily end up with situations where you won't find the needed items until endgame because you don't have nodes to compensate and rely so much more on RNG.

Now I don't know the exact numbers here but I would estimate that I had more than 50% unlucky runs. And the chances seemed unchanged after they buffed the drops or when I used disenchant. In some instances they even had clear negative impact where for example, I didn't get resistance and only attribute runes dropped.

So yeah, considering that they've highlighted freedom of builds / build diversity in the past, I'd say that this is one of the larger issues with the current state of the game. And I'm afraid that GGG will fix skills that trivialize the game without addressing the unlucky run, simply because its more visible and trade doesn't have this particular problem during early league.
