Gameplay Idea: Artifact Items

The idea would start with an "Item Infuser" that you put in your stronghold. The infuser can be toggled on and off. There is another ability called 'infuse item', that you can target a white base with.

Once an item is Infused it becomes account bound. Characters could only wear a single artifact item. (Perhaps SSH characters can wear two?).

The infused item then lets you select exactly what modifications you want on it (Perhaps some exalt cost here). These mods all start at T1, absolute min roll.


When the infuser is turned on you no longer get ITEM drops in your maps. You could still get currency, jewels, waystones, baryas ,etc. You however would not get items, white bases, unique items. Instead you are given infuse points that automatically go into the infuser. The amount of points you get would be based on the strength of the items you miss out on.

When you click the infuser after your map, the points go into the infused item, increasing the tier of the abilities you've selected in your infused item.

The scaling here should act the same as leveling in the 90th level range. Early tiers 1-2 go quickly, higher tiers take a really long time.

I think this would be a fun way for players to make a powerful item, that wouldn't impact the market, and would give mapping a purpose other than hoping for a 1 in 6 billion item drop.
