Patch gutted CoC Bloodmage by breaking Choir of the Storm behavior

Why? The build is like 50% as good as LS, for 5 times the investment. I thought there would be no more mid-league nerfs.

I was hyped af for 0.2.1 and to min-max my character, instead I log into a broken mess.

GGG has to fix this, too many people are outraged.
GGG can't be dishonest and make a nerf without putting it in the patch notes.

I doubt it TBH, otherwise ppl will really leave this game.

It really blows my mind, CoC BM is totally in line with other builds, it's not broken by any means. It's just insanely fun to play.

The whole thing hinges on the definition if Lightning Bolt from Choir is a regular triggered spell or not, and I would argue that it isn't because unlike normal triggered spells it doesn't use energy, it procs of crits. Before it was able to benefit from Spell Echo and charged CoCs, now it does neither. It's a giant double tap nerf out of nowhere, with no explanation to a balanced build, that needs a huge investment to get going.

I don't think it's just Choir of the Storm. All my CoC skills trigger way less than before. Lets hope it's a bug and not an intentional nerf.

Well...there are a few different ways to view it.

Changes and fixes should be more frequent because the game's in Early Access (beta version), but they've held back a lot because people didn't want to have to adjust to changes so often.

Not having it in the patch notes might mean that it's a change that snuck in, and with how much shit people are stirring because of it, it probably will be addressed. In that case, it'll probably go the same way that the PoE1 bug fix regarding curse radius and spell cascade went in relation to Impending Doom: behavior will be reverted until the next big patch (0.3), at which point the bug fix will be reinstated.



Lightning Bolt from Choir of the Storm is a triggered skill, and ought to be treated as such. But it wasn't, which led to several bugged behaviors: supported by Spell Echo/Unleash, not affected by modifiers to damage of triggered spells, it sounds like it's crits were providing Energy for other trigger skills...

That might be it but either way, they can't say "no nerfs during the season" and then kill a build after people invest countless divines to min/max it. I honestly wouldn't be so annoyed if they hadn't promised to not do exactly this.

I feel like this is debatable, as LB does not trigger off energy, but is a conditional effect after a crit. I think they should just give it another label and treat it as its own thing. It's already a pinnacle drop and CoC doesn't outperform other builds.

I got the same feeling too. CoC procs less. I guess its because of the Choir but lets see once they fix it.
