Feedback on Path of Exile 2 – Critical Observations from a Veteran Player

Dear Path of Exile 2 Team,

Greetings from Singapore.

I’m writing to provide feedback on several aspects of the current beta, which I believe are critical to the success and long-term appeal of Path of Exile 2.

1. Monster Visual Clarity
It is often difficult to distinguish between monsters and the environment. Improved visual contrast and clearer monster silhouettes would greatly enhance readability during combat.

2. Microtransaction Usability
Cosmetic microtransactions should be readily usable upon purchase. When players invest financially in the game, their expectations for immediate and seamless access must be taken seriously.

3. Visual Clutter After Kills
The residual visual effects from monsters and the environment after kills are excessive and linger too long. This creates unnecessary visual noise, making it harder to maintain flow and focus. It feels like a "constipation symptom" in gameplay rhythm.

4. Performance & Server Stability
Despite using a high-performance system, I consistently experience stuttering, which significantly detracts from the enjoyment. This suggests server-side issues or optimization gaps that warrant urgent attention.

Beyond these points, I encourage the team to keep player experience at the forefront of every design decision. If a change or feature doesn’t enhance enjoyment, it’s worth reconsidering. Updates based solely on data—without player context—can lead to alienation and fatigue, rather than engagement.
As a longtime Diablo veteran who has played since Diablo 1, I’ve seen firsthand how communities drift away when developers rely too heavily on internal assumptions over genuine player feedback. Data is a useful tool, but it should serve to guide—not dictate—development.

Take, for instance, the “purple plant” mechanic. Instead of simply nerfing it, consider the broader context: could player resistances be improved? Is there room to better facilitate movement or evasion? Nuanced design can solve root issues rather than applying superficial fixes.

I’ll refrain from listing every issue I’ve encountered, as the game is still in beta. That said, I hope these observations offer some insight and support as you continue refining the experience ahead of launch.
