+Level to Gems sucks

Agreed.

But what would the alternative be then?
Not sure, just don't like it. It's too powerful. +3 should be the max for weapons, and +1 on shield.

Is it though? It's a nice to have for some builds, I wouldn't say it mandatory for my galvanic shard build.

I guess it depends on what you're doing. I just run t15 maps (since I don't see any reason to run anything else).

wdym + to skill is always best option huge diff dmg wise, the only problem is mana sustain

As "regular" mod on items - completely agree! Its outstanding any other mods without any options.

I'd say, that +spirit aswell.

As a minion enjoyer, if the sceptre/helm/amulet aren't +4/+2/+1 it's going straight in the bin, and of course the chest needs +spirit. Then maintaining enough resists and stats of course, and then we have defences in the form of ES/HP/block/evasion/armour to worry about. I wish gearing had more room for "fun" in it.
I agree. I consider it a boring lazy design. It takes space for more interesting jewels, but since its so powerful, its almost mandatory for some builds.

Agreed.

Itemization in general is pretty boring when you really look at it. Everyone's looking for the same modifiers, and items are useless unless they hit certain criteria.

Capping your resistances shouldn't be mandatory; having resistances should feel like a bonus.

Things like "attack speed" and "Skill levels" are so much stronger than everything else and are frankly boring modifiers.

Where's some interesting modifiers like:

Chance to reflect projectiles

Increased spell damage after using a melee attack

Increased attack damage after using a projectile

Causes damage when knocking enemies back

Increased critical damage against maimed enemies

Etc.

Modifiers that change how your character plays
