On market manipulation

What happens in a market where anyone can list any item at any price without any consequences or commitments? You guessed it, you build a breeding ground for scammers. Frankly, I’m too old to be unaware of this kind of shenanigans. So I’m not here to complain about getting scammed. It’s worse than that. I’m here to tell you that I feel exhausted whenever I want to research the true value of some item. GGG, I’m telling you now if you don’t build a centralized market with enforced commitment, i.e. if an item is listed for a price it can be bought by anyone at that price immediately after listing or until the seller chooses to remove it, you will lose people like me. I play the game for leisure, but I find myself often feeling like it’s more work than fun. I understand that the tabs is an important source of revenue for you, so what I’m proposing is not to replace it, just to remove the need for manual interaction and add a way for people to buy things immediately at asking price. I’m telling you it’s unnecessary hurdles like these that make me quit playing games. With all due respect I already have a job. Thank you for an otherwise fun game.

When I first played standard league, a good amulet went for about 10 exalted. Which equals about 3 hours of playtime for an average build.

Now the same amulet goes for about 3 devines. Which is about 2 weeks for the average build.

Actually dropping useful items never happens. This game tries hard to get rid of new and casual players.
Inflation, inflation, inflation.
the worst idea in PoE2 is the trade.
I had a really crappy experience this league trying to buy a ring. Was listed for 1 div. No response from seller but the ring immediately disappered from trade and got relisted a minute later for 2 div.
This is super toxic behaviour. There should be a mechanism in place that if a buyer calls dibs on an listed item and seller changes their mind that it can't be relisted and repriced for at least 48 hours.

no need.

This is exactly what an in game auction house solves 'for the most part'.

There will absolutely always be rich, who cah afford to do a little price fixing, but an AH such as the likes of what WoW has boasted for over 20 yrs, works like a charm.

GGG knows it, the public knows it, and its exactly the kind of thing they have intentionally avoided, citing every possible pathetic excuse in the book, alongside a plethora of forum goers backing this crappy trade implementation which strangely resembles old RM Sites as well.

Hell, the supposed (using the word in the loosest fashion here) crafting relies on crafting items, which are referred to as 'Currency'. Its really an awful old mix, that we tolerated in POE as it had more orb support than POE2 does currently, and eventually fleshed out a crafting system in POE1, which exists in no fasion here.

BUt, at the end of the day, each to their own. Those people that enjoy the game in its current state will keep on enjoying it until they dont, and those of us that don't enjoy it will keep on doing so, until one day, maybe we do.

I would seriously suggest that if the game truly is disappointing to you, to play something else (maybe a few games, whatever) for a long long time, and then come back, maybe it will be different. But for the short to mid run, its not changing anything much overall.

It is what it is.
GGG - Why you no?
