PoE2 needs favoured maps - badly

Two of the things that make poe1's endgame endlessly replayable - much more than 2 - are the favoured map system and the atlas tree's steady progression that gives deterministic and chosen outcomes in your maps.

By the time a character is in the 90s or so you should have progressed far enough to be able to choose the map layouts you like and run only or primarily those layouts and not be forced to engage with layouts you don't like or layouts that are objectively bad.

The randomness of the atlas is fun as you're progressing, but when people want to lock in and farm, the cycle of tower hunting, setup, circumnavigation, and finally running juiced maps is still far too involved. The juice doesn't feel worth the squeeze.

By the time atlas progression is completed in poe2, a player should be able to choose the map layouts they are running and more power needs to be baked into the atlas passive tree. I'm not convinced the separation of league mechanics into separate trees is a good thing, but that's a whole other post.

TLDR: Favored maps or something similar (Orb of Horizons maybe) would go a long way in making poe2 endgame more replayable.

You just know that if they added orbs of horizon to the game they'd be as rare as divines, good luck with that.
