Please Cut Animation Times by 50% Combat Feels Unplayably Sluggish

Hi GGG,

I just rage quit after a few hours of trying to play a Staggering Palm Warrior build, and I need to be blunt: the combat pacing is killing the game.

My core feedback: most skill animations in PoE 2 need to be cut by at least 50%. Everything feels bogged down, from dash skills to melee swings. The responsiveness is so lacking that enemies are getting in multiple attacks before I can finish one action and it feels awful.

Instead of making me feel like a strong bruiser, it feels like I’m swinging through molasses while monsters go turbo mode around me.

I understand some of this is intentional for weight and timing, but right now it crosses into unfun. The visuals are beautiful, the systems are promising, but if pressing a button never feels satisfying or fast, it undermines the entire experience.

Please seriously consider globally reducing animation times across nearly all actions

Please, no. We are already have such convulsive gameplay in POE1, let POE2 be even a bit different.

how do you deal with the sluggishness though? I ended up going to Last Epoch. And I'd rather not have to go to PoE 1 for superior gameplay when PoE 2 is out..

What does this have to do with skills being unplayable due to animation times? Why would you want an unplayable skill in a game just to claim its different than PoE1? At that point just add buttons and skills that do nothing, at least the binary file is different than PoE1 though.

If some skills are unplayable now - it's THAT skills problems, which should be solved individually. They are would be still unplayable, if ANY skill would be speeded up, because they are would be slow compared to skills that have no such problem before.

Well... Than i might ask you how do you play POE1 and deal with that meaningless convulsive gameplay? POE2 has many problems, but i am much more like it's dynamic than POE1's.

And, i wont comment anything about LE.

Bad skills might be upgraded not only by speeding them up. While some skills would be useless even with cutted animation, if core idea of that skill is broken.

I don't get frustrated by PoE 1's speed but I do with PoE 2's so nothing to 'deal' with
heard someone say something hilarious that drives my point: "I'd rather deal with lag than temporal chains because lag happens faster"
