I am not excited for the August league - And here's why.
" Let him play the game however he wants to. Who told you he has to play a game a certain way? You are probably one of those people that don't like others using build guides. Pretty sad way to gatekeep this game. |

" Uhhh the game? Clearing the endgame is literally encouraged by the game lol. Man doesn't enjoy doing the actual hard content in this game i guess. Actually.... what the hell do you even do in the game then? Do you just play the campaign? 最後に DankWeebTrash#7386 が 2025/07/13 20:55:22 に編集

Yap, i've already seen a topic "mirror for 100 lvl character!"... which wasnt a joke. So, a "Give me everything right now" disease progressing.

" I don't want everything upfront. I just want it in a reasonable amount of time. I want to have to earn it by doing hard content.... i just want the hard content to actually have decent rewards. Which is hard when they tend to nerf all good items into the ground. 最後に DankWeebTrash#7386 が 2025/07/14 7:51:55 に編集

I am super excited for the August update. Probably going to get a Str/Int class and those are my fav!
I've played PoE1 for like 13 years and of those years, I sucked for the first 4-5 lol. The worst part is during those 4-5 I didn't think that I sucked at all - it was a case of "didn't know what I didn't know". Need to drop all ego and go into PoE2 with the same mindset. If things are a struggle, if something feels like a slog, if something doesn't seem like it's going as well as you hope in game - the first stop in the thinking journey needs to be at the problem-solving and critical-thinking area, not the "blame the devs and suggest the game be easier" area. There's so much going on in games like this it's almost always the case that there's something you don't understand, are unaware of, or could be doing better that would solve your problem. This game has been out for just over half a year, and 60% of it is still in the oven. I'm not saying that all the feedback on here is bad, but I think a lot of people are just giving up too early or have their mind set in a way that they think the game is "supposed" to be and refuse to think outside of that domain. I can't even imagine that a primary gripe in this post is essentially, "if the patch changes too much and I have to re-figure everything out, I won't like it". "Figuring it out" is a foundational appeal of this whole genre and style of game. Genuine questions to think about: Do you have fun playing this game if you don't enjoy "figuring things out"? Do you just follow someone else's build ideas hoping they figured it out? Is that why when the game changes you just get annoyed that now you have to learn someone else's build again? If it's the case, and you're looking at those like "yeah, I do just follow builds, I don't have time to learn/experiment with everything" then you have to realize that you're entire enjoyment of the game is downstream and dependent on other, more capable players, willing and enjoying the game for what it is, and figuring it out for you, so that you can feel good for being successful in a difficult game. That's why GGG has made a game for THAT type of player. If they make the game for the kind that whines the build they copied is now "bricked" (because they can't problem solve their way around an adjustment) then it'll stop appealing to the people who end up making the builds the other type likes to copy, and that's a death spiral. This is all on top of the fact that this is a beta and it's nearly guaranteed that LOTS will change between now and release, and it should be EXPECTED that whatever you're doing in game now, will require re-imagining or re-figuring out as patches come out. I really disagree with the whole mindset encompassed in this post, as you never really stop "figuring it out" and framing that aspect as unenjoyable in the context of patch-note adjustments, at least to me, tells me you actually don't enjoy a major aspect of the challenge presented by this game - why would a developer ever cater a game towards someone who doesn't like a foundational aspect of it? |

i am excited but at same time sceptical, because whoever pushed 0.2 in will not be happy with drastical changes of his "vision" unless he got cornered and forced to actually respect players, instead of forcing in horrible nerfs and mechanics only to fulfill his "vision"

GGG became so disrespectful with its players. Even Jonathan Rogers was mad at Ziz in that interview he did just because Ziz was calling out how bad the game was treating the players. Or when DM received backlash from Jonathan just because he said the truth: Warrior has the worst part of the skill tree and the defences there aren't even close to the rest of the tree.
I don't understand why are they trying do hard to make the game an impossible task. Who told them that we want to suffer in every step we take? How is hard equal to meaningful? This game is going nowhere. What we actually need is a new company offering a new ARPG with this kind of graphics, because most people are on PoE 2 at this point just because of how it looks like. |

" And while they also don't guarantee a good reward. I played since 0.1 and kept playing Standard because I am not in the mood to farm currency again. Have run an incredible amount of pinnacle content without getting a pinnacle reward, yet. I haven't even seen a damn Headhunter drop. I only run T15-16 maps, all pinnacles at T4, still not a good drop after half a year playing this game. I don't know how they expect people to farm for items every season. They seem to want people to farm currency and buy it from the bots they allow to be in the market, like a casino. |

" It's part of the game though. And it being an ARPG and thus 'never-ending' in a sense, it's unsurprising that a certain amount of players will for themselves pick a goal to achieve to consider a character, or the game, 'done'. In that case, i can understand that being able to clear T4 pinnacles is a logical choice to make. In any case, i wouldn't call it sad.
