Path of Exile 2 — Network Spikes After Patch (0.3)

I'm also getting lag spikes. Played absolutely fine on 0.1, now about 50% of the instances I load into will either run fine or have unplayable lag spikes of 1000+. I can leave the instance and hop back in sometimes to roll the dice and see if it fixes, but it massively is degrading my experience and I might put the game down. It does not corelate to the Shaders and I've disabled IPv6.
Really disappointing no word from GGG on this. EDIT: Using a VPN did fix this for me. Disabling IPv6 and doing all the other recommended network setting and shader cache fixes did not work. 最後に Supersalad#0044 が 2025/12/21 17:08:02 に編集

im on this train too.
figuring things out as i can: im running Winmtr to monitor ping latency from my PC to maps server host. looking like any other game i play no packet loss or indicative latency tanks. but ingame occasionally lag an network spikes to 50k and far beyound. so i got into client.txt and reading out what i can figure, noticing everytime i have a lag spike and standtill ingame. hundrets of error code lines are written into my client.txt. sometime even far exceeding 10k lines. yikes! i made another post here https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3895918, with a copy paste of the lines client.txt notes down. if you want to post similar, or want to check winmtr what your connection looks like leave a comment there. 最後に MorwoPoE#3287 が 2025/12/22 13:52:30 に編集

Just wanted to add that Im having the same issues. Only in POE2 and only started with the recent update. Stopped playing for a few weeks and came back today to the same issues. usually play on Texas server, but it happens on all. Sits at 25-30 ping and then jumps to 200 every few seconds.

Crazy that these issues are still happening despite me taking a break since launch. I've tried multiple things to fix this and no luck at all. At the start of 0.4 I was mostly good other than some crashes on bosses that seemed to happen specifically the first time I'd fight that boss, but now I get random network latency and shader spikes that are absolutely slagging my game to a crawl, and this is just in the campaign. Mapping is absolutely out of the question while the game is like this. For the record, this is the only game I have these issues on and I don't exactly have a low end pc so I don't know what the deal is.
I'd like to think there's a fix coming but I'm honestly about to just drop the game for good as every performance issue that the game has had since launch is still there but yet GGG will make sure to put more stuff in the cash shop. Not a good look at all when the cash shop is very clearly the priority over having a game that's even playable. 最後に works0fheart#3154 が 2025/12/30 2:59:47 に編集

I am also having this same issue, beginning 12/26/2025. I have been trying everything under the sun and nothing fixes it. As soon as I enter maps my network spikes upwards of 10k and just constantly oscillates from 20ms to 10,000ms making the game completely unplayable.
Checking my ping to various sites the slowest it has been is 8ms. I have no other issues with streaming, no issues with other games. It is only with Path of Exile 2. 最後に rhoadesd20#1511 が 2025/12/30 22:40:54 に編集

I made a separate forum post regarding this subject but will post here cuz its more relevant.
I am experiencing severe and inconsistent latency spikes that appear to be instance-specific rather than connection-wide. In my hideout, my ping can be stable at ~15 ms. Upon entering a map, latency may immediately spike and remain consistently above 500 ms. Returning to the hideout can sometimes keep the ping at 500+ ms or be at ~15ms, while opening a new map instance can suddenly return latency to ~15 ms. This behavior is random and tied to individual instances. The same type of content may be perfectly fine in one instance and unplayable in another. For example, a map can run normally, but entering an Abyssal Depth within that map can cause persistent high latency. I have also experienced consistent latency spikes in endgame content such as King of the Mist, Simulacrum, Vaal Temple, and other random map instances. Because latency can immediately improve or worsen simply by leaving and re-entering or creating a new instance, this does not appear to be general network instability on my end, but rather an issue affecting certain server instances or routing paths. |

I'm just adding to this thread.
Xbox Series X here. Game becomes unstable with lag spikes, mostly with Maps and Vaal temple runs. I have attempted the following steps to try and help the issues --- Drop display settings Adjust Audio to low Disabled Global Chat Adjusting network settings on home router Trying different realms (I'm US based, so tried Cal, TX, etc) Nothing has really helped these issues. I felt like the game is running much worse that when I was first playing in during 0.1. As others have stated, it is definitely something with instances. I can shut everything down and come back two hours later and play a few runs before issues start showing up again. |

Having the same issue. This has mostly been a thing for me in 0.4. The game runs fine for a while but then randomly I start freezing/stuttering like crazy. Game is like a slideshow. The in-game network graph shows wild latency spikes. I can change to other servers and it's the same thing. Is this some sort of DDoS attack on GGG or something? WTH is going on with this? Has GGG mentioned this at all? Others in game all say the same thing happens to them so it's not just me. Unplayable.
