I just finished gearing a CI version of this kind of build using 6link opus and soul strike with LA+LMP+VM+ICS+ACD+SP and Barrage+FA+SP+ACD+ICS+VM. Didn't take pierce nodes in tree or the gem as it doesn't have as big of an impact on dps without drillneck. (drill neck is an option as I have plenty of skill points to throw in to dps, but the start time on es regen becomes over 1second vs .4seconds using soul strike)
I currently have 10053es at level 83 with level 20 discpline, 21 will take me to 10500+ I have 1 5%es node open to take if I wish I don't think ill bother though till late 90s and I have one dps jewel that also doesn't have ES and 2 more jewel slots to pick up so another 18-24% more is possible, all of this while wearing snakebites. Energy from within is placed in the jewel slot under melding. With ghost reaver vaalpact and .4second start on es regen with 1800es per second you can pretty much daydream through the traps in uberlab.
Auras I'm running AA Discpline and herald of ice(have too much unreserved mana this can go to haste instead of AA+hoi if you want to move/attack faster) It's very strong haven't died yet even without any stun immunity though I could run kiaras I guess for safety with this es pool I tested with dried lake Voll and his 3k Slams didn't stun me.
Currency permitting I'll try for some 30% chaos damage/accuracy diamond rings but depends as league is getting kind of short on time to mess about making currency to try a lot.
Accuracy is 87% at the moment so will need a item with a bit more then just what I have on amulet to bring it to a reasonable amount once I've leveled a few times and it goes down some more.
With 3 power charges I'm crit capped to 95%, 68% without power charges
507% crit multiplier with 54% more to come from throat seeker cluster.

+2 barrage hubris purchased just need 400es fire res and accuracy will have to wait for some currency.

Alternate tree If you want aspect of eagle for physical damage/acc/ms and 20% flask charges gained from primal spirit at th cost of 8% projectile damage, 1 jewel slot and 5%es


Made some changes that stream lined things making for a much more fluid game play and increased my dps a lot since I can't run blood rage.
Gear and what's slotted looks like this


Now running frenzy in a 6link for trash Frenzy+LMP+Pierce+SP+ICS+ACD
Barrage+Pierce+VM+SP+ICS+ACD
Picked up pierce nodes and +1 arrow drillneck. (moved the points below vaal pact) I switch to a 5 linked darkscorn + soul strike quiver for lab trash/trap areas and weapon swap to opus + drill neck for Argus & Izaro.
Extra gem slots went to Vaal haste and Vaal discipline
Picked up 3 frenzy charges for +6 total +36% increased duration off sets the 3 charges and +4% evasion per charge is also a nice free defensive boost (huge attack speed bonus to frenzy skill +11% per charge makes Opus not feel sluggish without bloodrage I can run it but dont really like not having es regen at all)
So maintaining max frenzy charges is no longer an issue I dont need to use frenzy then switch to LA every pack was very clunky gameplay. The IAS of the extra charges + dps and IAS for barrage was a huge improvement.
Es is still over 10k with 10053 with level 21 discipline and taking the 5% node I skipped before. Vaal pact keeps my es full no problems, the regen delay is around 1.5 seconds without soulstrike equipped so I can still switch easily for rippy mod maps if I really feel I need .4second regen start time.

New tree till 95



2 less leech nodes 1 less frenzy 9% increased move speed/more physical % with different bandits

Everything OP is inherently fun lol. What's not fun about pancalking the entire game lmao. I don't think they will nerf the build directly, but they may adjust the way poison and bleed interact with each other. They already nerfed Reach and they already nerfed Voidheart, so they may keep going and just trim away some of the double dipping going on with phys/chaos.

With that said, OP did the Shaper (albeit the original Shaper) on a white bow, so I'm pretty sure GGG has their eyes things. People were doing Atziri with EQ on 3/4L and that got nerfed into the ground, so don't be surprised if this build doesn't perform well in 2.5 ;)

That's their way tho. It's always FOTM and the rest can just eek by. If you want Shaper farming builds, it's all about FOTM and they only have a shelf life of a league (sometimes not even that).

Using Frenzy as main attack is really fun, not as smooth as LA but good enough to kill mobs pretty fast, and it scales damage with poison better (Physical attack). Finally, your frenzy charges are always full, no need another attack to set up.

Minotaur with point blank is a joke, it dies in 20secs tops.

Chimera is a struggle, but you can dps him a lot more than Hydra.

Phoenix is harder than Minotaur but managable.



Tried Point Blank and all guardians were way easier.
First time I tried Chimera I was really worried because everyone was saying he was super hard, now, after fighting him 4-5 times I find him the easiest, just lay a decoy totem, blink behind him, DPS him, replace totem, blink behind him, DPS again until he is dead.

Hydra was also way faster with point blank, I just hug him and run in circles dodging the balls and barraging him.

I've tried Shaper 3 times and failed horribly on second phase 3 times. The spheres come up at the same time as the portal with adds opens, so I have to lead the sphere to somewhere safe and zana dies. I just farmed a new set and will wait for some advice from any of you on how to avoid turning the arena into a vortex mess.
I'll try Shaper with point blank, maybe the added damage will help kill the adds faster if I stay close to the portal.

Everything else is easy mode with this build, nice work Cmphx. I've never had more than 7 ex worth of items before, even when having more /played time than on this one, now I can even try end-game content.

I am loving this build its great fun currently doing it on standard.

Still trying to get a better enchantment on the helm would prefer +2 barrage but at 34ex+ not on the cards so aiming for the additional LA hit enemy enchantment.

Also the Vulnerability on hit corruption on snakebites is not cheap around 24ex and then I would still need to socket/link/chrome all with vaal orbs so not a cheap option. Is there any other curse option that is viable? Assassin's mark? Temp chains? using witchfire flask to help with DoT dmg and casting vulnerability...

Also trying to 6L another queen but so far 6ex in and have 5L it 10 times and not 6L... which is a far cry from the Reach which only took 32 fuses.

I have some Chaos% ring and ammy on essence that will use once league merges so I think I should be done...

Can someone tell me why there is such a big difference between my dps and OP? My 5L LA is 12k (his 19,5) and my 6L Barrage is 7,9k (his 12,7k). I have the same talents and ascendencies as OP and my jewels have 5-6% life, 10-12% proj dmg and utility rolls like res/atributes. When i change my Helmet with +2 Barrage on Devoto's without one my dps is as follows: 5L LA 13,6k and 6L barrage 8,9k. So i assume i should run Devoto's without the enchant (which is sad, i thought the new helmet would actually boost my dps and help me with life and resists) but still, its way less then what OP has and i dont know what i am missing :< I suppose with Devoto's +enchant my dps might get somewhat closer to his 12,7 *although i doubt that) but getting the enchant for barrage wont boost my LA dps. Any ideas?
