From many league experiences I agree Guardian/Trickster are solid choices for HoA.

I've flip flopped this league from Trickster back to Guardian because of the 50% reservation node.

While Trickster has got amazing dot protection with Lethe shade/Heartstopper/Spell breaker/wicked ward combo, Time of need is quite good too.

Any new players should concentrate on getting poison chance up ASAP

Poison on hit gem gives another 40% but guardian is a long ways from the poison on hit/spell nodes unlike shadow. A few poison on hit jewels/tatoos will help but chance won't be good until post campaign.

Scion is known for being a great Aurabot but it worth getting those weaker ascendency nodes for 4 more passive points?

Yes, definitive.

But with serpentine spellslinger and a chance to poison support or the curse-mastery 80-100% poison-chances are reached not too late. But the northern and eastern ascendancies are 6 levels faster at this point with fatal toxins as guardian.

HoA-scion looks really good and quite flexible. But Trickster for tankyness will not be reached. After playing all ascendancies 1-3x times already I guess she have her specialized ups also.

It will become an awesome HoA- and minion-league.
