I don't think the campaign is that much an issue. No matter how difficult, it is possible to clear it, it'll be done one way or another. People eventually work it out.
It's the rest of the game that's very much the problem. On the side note, with many threads getting locked now, people might have too much free time on our hands, like myself, posting. Not knowing what else to do with the game. I find fighting bosses in the campaign fun. It's the mobs that's really overtuned. Take freythorn for example.

Get rid of 10 minute boss fights that are super boring (outside of the top of the top end content) or I will never play or pay for this game.

The answer to these questions/issues is profit motive. As long as players keep buying Mtx they will ignore the fun and focus on the fluff |

" This is a MASSIVE issue that has persisted in PoE 1 too. For example, after killing Geonor in Cruel you are still required to watch the animation before loot drops. This is NOT the case in late game citadels. So why is it here? If there is a settings that skips useless animations AND makes loot drop instantly it'd actually be a massive improvement. |

I would really like it if there would be fewer monsters with larger hp pools that do interesting things I need to respond to in distinct ways in the endgame maps. I don't like the speed farming an undistinguished large monster swarm gameplay.
Summoner to be interesting for me, would need to designed in a way that the player needs to actively use their summons abilities, manage corpses and support their minions with skills that buff them or protect them. From what I've heared the current gameplay can be quite passive which is boring ti play. |

" The campaign is an issue. I, as well as others, have no interest in it and they are making it longer and more tedious. I've done the campaign almost 4 times, because I didn't even care to complete campaign this league and had 3 chars in patch 0.1. If you imagine doing campaign as much as you beat PoE1 campaign in order to get to the end game that you're after, but then making it 3 times as long, you'll see player numbers kind of like the player numbers you see now. |
