It makes perfect sense, since you have to put work in to get over the softcap of lvl90. If they put lvl90 as the max level, people wouldn't complain, because they'd have reached the max. EXP loss isn't a real problem. It's literally just in people's heads.


The idea that it isn't a problem is just in your head. Losing hours of already completed progress is a real tangible effect that can be measured. By definition that isn't simply in someone's head.

It wouldn't be a real problem if it was recoverable where you died. There's no legitimate reason to not do this, or at least one hasn't been presented.

If xp is the only metric for you, then it's the only thing to pursue in this game. Why bother doing bosses, if you can farm non-modified lvl 79 maps 24/7.

If that is your argument, well...maybe play another game? XP isn't the only thing to pursue here.

On bosses, experience seems to have been disabled in patch 0.2.

The argument against this is its only for the elites. How many people have complimented you on your lvl 100? Exactly, so why does it matter if everyone can do it? And the 'yall are just cry babies'. about having my time wasted. Yeah, why arent you?

Especially in a game that is unbalanced in favor of monster AOE, and on death effects, that are basically gotcha moments. Hmm, data on that. They have basically said volatile plants are bs and they are fixing those. So yeah, there are issues.
I wonder what the nexus of people who support XP loss and overpowered builds is? I bet most of them are playing lightning spear.

Equally, I wonder what the nexus of the jobless POE no-lifers and those who support XP loss is.

You'd have to be the sweatiest of try-hards to not at least get frustrated at hours of XP build getting negated, all earned on maps before the one some overtuned grey mob oneshot you on.

Or you have to be logged in 12 hours a day so it doesn't make a difference as you'll always gain the experience back.

Either way - XP loss completely sucks for those of us who can't play all day or are not using the meta build.

Oh it clearly is a real problem if there are so many threads with tens of thousands of views and comments on them though. It will change eventually, too many people quit because of it.


The people who quit over exp loss weren't going to stick around or support the game financially anyway. Also, reporting bias. Naysayers and complainers will always be much louder than the rational enjoyers. Level 95 is super attainable, even for casual players. I highly doubt that GGG will give into this one. Removing exp loss would drastically dumb down the endgame and may even have the opposite effect where people quite mid-league after hitting level 100, because they "finished."

Deal with it.

Omen of Amelioration doesnt work in all occasions. I used 4 times and none of thme worked in death. I didnt used any other omen by that time.

I think they need balance between xp loose and gain on higher levels, like after 96/97.

For example higher tier stone more then 16. Maybe 17 or/and 18.

Not sure what to tell you. Works for me 100% of the time. I suspect user error.
