Ok thanks for the information.

Would you like to give additional information on how thats relevant to the stats I presented?

Or how you have concluded that those people quit because of exp loss?

I was just giving context to the illusion you were trying to portray ("20 people on forum" vs "40-50k concurrent players"). It's not for you, it's for other readers.

How is that an illusion?
And how can it be context if its not related in any way?

There is about 20 people replying on this thread.
The game has 48k 24 hour average peak of players.

Those are just facts that you can easily check yourself.

20 people agreeing on something on a forum represents less then 0.05% of the playerbase. Thats just another fact. So with knowing that its hard to get an "overwhelming" view of that the opinion of the playerbase is.

The illusion you are still trying to portray with your "20 people vs 40k players" stat, is that the overwhelming majority people are fine with the game. The stats with my added context of 535k who don't play anymore, overwhelmingly shatters that illusion.

its great, otherwise everyone will be 100 - no prestige. Its legacy from D2 and I love it

I think your projecting your own unhappiness onto my post.
Because nowhere did I write anything about my own opinion or view or in any way suggest that the overwhelming majority of players were fine with anything.

Its fairly obvious that this "league" was very poorly received and had alot of problems and alot of players stopped playing due it.

Im merely pointing out numerical stats which are facts that you or anyone else can check.

And if you evaluate these facts then it becomes very obvious that a 20man petition on a forum cant be a "overwhelming" majority when it represents less then 0.05% of the total playerbase.

Not sure why your trying to argue against basic match and facts that anyone can check in 10 seconds.

But that player drop off is normal for seasonal arpg games.

Attributing that drop off to one particular aspect you don't like is a fallacy.

A forum post with a few dozen people agreeing and a few disagreeing is not a great way to sample player sentiment on anything.

numerical facts on a place 99% people come to complain about is at the very least biased. And yes it is a small sample, a biased one at that.

Basically OP is just gathering angry people that can't use omens of amelioration.

Yes its an incredibly tiny minority of the playerbase that visit the forum in the first place and those that do are obviously biased towards those that have something to complain about.

The only thing this shows if anything is the fact that only 20 people complaining about it is a shockingly low number.
I’m willing to bet the average player doesn’t even realize they lose XP on death.

You can’t remove a core mechanic and expect the game to feel the same. Just think about how you play the campaign when there’s no consequence for dying—does that actually make the game more fun? For me, it’s the opposite. I feel comatose running through the campaign in SC.

That's more of a problem of the campaign being a boring 20-hour slog though, it has nothing to do with exp loss.

Most negative steam reviews mention exp loss as part of the reason they quit, they've lost quite the number of players because of this outdated mechanic. It would be a net positive for the game if it was just deleted/made optional. So many players quitting because of exp loss is just ridiculous and sad. It could all easily be fixed, which is why this and many other threads exist.

We're all giving our feedback to GGG, and they have all the stats themselves anyway. They can 100% see when someone alt+f4s or logs out right after a death that sets them back many hours of mapping exp. Just like how they budged on the whole "1 portal per map" thing, the same will happen here. It may even just be that they didn't have the time yet to address exp, I remember hearing in some video/interview that they planned on having exp loss only begin at lvl90+, so that's one possible change that could happen.

Though obviously the majority has spoken, and we all agree that its best if this outdated mechanic is abandoned and deleted. Or you know, let people choose how they wanna play the game by making it an on/off button in the settings. This is Softcore, not Mediumcore and not Hardcore. Game shouldn't punish people for dying so harshly in the default easiest gamemode lmao
