" Nothing is stopping you from playing easier maps. In PoE1, there are people who level on white maps. It takes forever, but hey, if you're going for level 100, you have a lot of free time. |

At level 93 now and I have changed my mind about death exp penalty twice.
First time I was against it because, well, it's sucks. But after leveling all 7 classes to level 80, I agreed that it's a good deterrent against bad builds and lazy players, who refuse to learn. However after level 92 I now consider this penalty to be a cheap move from developers to prevent people from leveling until full game will become available. If you made it to mid 90s levels - you got a working build and good gear to clear Tier 15-16 maps easily. But any issue with connection, any poor coding with graphic drivers, any lame distraction - and you lose literally hours of game in one second, because each map will yield 0.3-1% of level and losing 10% hurts a lot. It makes game boring and dumb because you are discouraged to try anything fun. Recipe is simple - run 700-900 maps without taking any risks, white-blue waystones, avoid using atlas passives that would empower bosses, forget about pinnacle fights, do not collect any loot besides orbs and you will level from 90 to a 100 in roughly 50-60 hours of game doing 15-20 maps an hour. Its not really indicative of any skill besides being stubborn. |
