Player power is so high that it is ruining the game. 1-button screen clear is BORING.
Full party pinnacle boss dead in seconds (Mercenary):
https://youtu.be/xqp1PHm8vF0?t=2 One button whole screen instant clear (Warrior): https://youtu.be/v0IHUpgw0oY?t=32 WTF is even this?! https://youtu.be/lO5NWQqzng0?t=1 And I guess no need to mention the stupid Lightning Spear or huntress skills in general that are just broken. Where is the meaningful combat? Who is the target audience for this gameplay? Monkeys? What does the game even requires of me, to push one button to finish the game? Mark and Jonnathan in 0.2 live interview clearly said that if there is a build killing pinnacle bosses in seconds, it deserves a prompt nerf. Why there were no nerfs to this? Why is PoE 2 abandoning it's direction and going for the "candy shower" just to shut up the kids/streamers crying to get the instant gratification and have all obstacles removed? This isn't a game anymore, it's a walking and loot picking simulator, nothing else is required of me, no challenge. And here is the major problem: How do you attempt to challenge these builds? - More one shot mechanics - More boss invulnerable phases - More on death effects Stuff that everyone hates, but that's the only thing that can even remotely touch these builds, but will negatively impact every other build and player in the game. The more player power you give to players now, the harder it will be to take the player power down in next patch. Just like giving a candy to a kid and then realizing it's not good for them so you need to take it back. I understand some people want to feel stupidly OP and they enjoy that kind of gameplay, all right. PoE 1 is already like that, go play that game. Stay true to your initial PoE 2 plans. Don't get forced by few crying streamers wanting to push-out just another BROKEN BUILD video to get more views. Player power needs to be nerfed down... by a lot. 最後に Sargoth_CZ#3391 が 2025/05/24 15:35:41 に編集 最後にスレッドがバンプされた時間 時刻 2025/05/25 19:50:10

Killing monsters with one hit is fun. Killing a whole screen of monsters with one click is fun. Running fast across maps is fun. Looting is fun. It's boring to walk around in a wheelchair and loot 10,000 rares and a couple of exalts. Paсл size is also crap in poe2 by the way.

Sounds like someone poor that can´t get the items he needs to be OP ;-)
You what a ACTION RPG is? It is NOT a game where you hit a mob 1000 times to do no damage. If you want "meaningfull combat" play a stategy game where all actions have a MEANINGFULL impact on you. |

Sorry my dude but this is what this game is about. You are part of a very loud and obnoxious minority that wants this game to fail at what it's supposed to deliver.
"Slow and meaningful" only goes as far as the campaign goes but anything after that is "Fast & Zoom". You should start accepting, that if you don't like to oneshot kill enemies, you can consider yourself NOT the target audience. It's time to stop with this whole argument of "slow and methodical", it has no space in this game and it was a failed concept of merging what made PoE1 so successful. Get it out of here. | |
Nope. I disagree.
I am running two very different builds this league. Lich Summoner - Storm Mage Skelly. Lightning Spear Deadeye. Both are equally viable but have differing play styles. The LS Deadeye, for example, requires a SUBSTANTIAL investment in gear and Passives and combination of things to make it work as well as you see in those videos showing bosses being one hit. But then again all the builds you see one-shotting bosses also require many DIV worth of investment. Which represents hundred, maybe thousands of hours of game time. Which is the entire point of the game: Grind out gear and currency and upgrade your character until it's able to one-shot pinnacle bosses. Without the above, why do we have levels beyond Level 1? |

You are correct OP. Don't listen to these trolls.
As someone who grew up with D1 and D2 this genre has become a complete charicature of what it once was. GGGs idea of slowing down combat and making mobs hard is genuinely the answer, however they are also shooting themselves in the foot. Because if you look at endgame everything screams "clearspeed", "kill fast" and "zoom zoom zoom" at you. Whether that's league mechanics, pinnacle content or something as fundamental as loot. Of course they should curbstomp these builds. But what remains after that? The reward structure of the game just doesn't properly work. You then play a much slower build and due to the nature of the game you will get a lot less rewards for content being much harder to best. You have 0 ways to reliable improve your gear outside of trade (again back to clearspeed and div/h). "Crafting" is a complete rng dogshit slot machine that yields 100 failures for one success. People cry for these one-button builds because it's the only way to somewhat reliably ensure progression in this game via currency farming and trade. I have played SSF this season. At some point it's like hitting a brick wall in progression and it grinds to a complete halt. |

I agree with Sargoth. The game has no challenge in the endgame.
1. it is way too easy to reach T15 maps. The mobs should scale much more with their defense or life with higher maps. (Not necessarily with their damage). Like in the Affliction League. Perfect challenging T15 maps were with thousands of whisps, that was fun if you managed to get through it. 2. the character building is not complex enough. All the power only comes from gem combinations, which always follow the same pattern: do something until you reach a threshold, one shot a T4 pinacle boss. But the items and the skill tree offer no depth. We just have to balance attribute requirements and resistances. Both offensive and defensive scaling is absolutely boring. tl;dr: The game should throw more complex problems at us to solve and offer deep paths for us to invest our time and brainpower into. |

" Imho, to fix this, the whole monster spawn and movement pattern must change. As of now monsters are too swarmy and high area clearing is mandatory. Monsters need to be just a bit faster than players, not 3 times its speed when they are swarming. They should have MORE HP but less numbers. That would be a start to shift skill selection from area clear to more concentrated dps |

" I still say we need more defensive skills that has tradeoff, not flat passive stat boosts. Since every build ends up 1 or 2 button builds, there's plenty of skill slots left anyway. "defensive" builds don't exist in current state of the game. We have glasscannons and Rupert-Tierdrop builds. Let me go forward by actually countering enemies with: "reflect skillshots" knockback that stuns or damage enemies if they collide with wall wall and smoke abilities should make enemies Lose sight not just reduced accuracy. etc... The problem with these insane dps builds that the devs need to make a decision: if this is the "norm" every enemy will match to this. However I have no idea how you can make meaningful combat where the only threat if the enemies offscreen oneshot you? This is like watching those amazing SuperMarioWorld romhacks where shelljump, and frame-perfect grab-jumps is the baseline moveset. My other issue that in this case the action is not on the battlefield its in the hideout. The map is already decided before you enter. - did you managed to get gear that makes this possible? Because lets face it, it doesn't matter how perfectly execute my skill rotation, I wont have lvl28 gems because of that. - have you been lucky and got the RNg lottery? - the true "skill" is flipping your items on the market. Some even argue the later you join, the harder it is, because hyperinflation goes brrrr I am still using the same weapon since t2 map. Anything I find is just worse than that. Its not a "skill" that I managed to get 2 mod paired by a recombinator with a 0.6% chance than manage to exalt/chaos till I get a nice 6/6 mod match with high tier... High lvl maps arent even my decision. I have to find a corrupted area that has +1 hope my irradiation tablet will be on the same map my vaal orb will upgrade the tablet to t16 While not getting a game-over mod on it |
